From tummy tucks to boob jobs, the stars of Teen Mom have never shied away from a little plastic surgery. But how many of the show’s moms actually have an obsession with plastic surgery?
According to OK Magazine , Teen Mom OG’s Farrah Abraham has gone under the knife on three different occasions. The reality star had a breast augmentation in 2010. She then had work done on her nose and chin in 2012.
Speaking of breast work, Jenelle Evans drastically changed her look when she got implants four years ago. Evans went from a size A to a size C. Like Evans, Mackenzie McKee also received a boob job, jumping in cup size from A to 36B.
Evans has never admitted to having plastic surgery, although In Touch Weekly reports that she admitted that she’s always wanted to have her lips done .
“My lips have always been small. My mom’s lips are small, my lips are small, my whole family – that’s just how we are,” Evans shared. “And I just want a normal size. Just not small, not like Kylie [Jenner]’s overly big. Just normal.”
Amber Portwood’s experience with plastic surgery is less frequent than some of her co-stars. According to International Business Times , Portwood recently had a boob lift and contoured her body in a procedure she called a “mommy makeover.”
“Had my mommy makeover and I’m now in recovery,” Portwood told fans. “If you want your post mommy body back or you’ve lost a lot of weight I would recommend it. And thanks for all the love and support. I truly appreciate it. Sending all my love.”
Portwood later encouraged fans to feel good about the way they look, regardless of their weight. According to Radar Online , Portwood also assured viewers that she hasn’t had any work done on her face .
According to Hollywood Life , Kailyn Lowry was the most recent Teen Mom cast member to join the plastic surgery club . Lowry revealed that she had a tummy tuck, a Brazilian butt lift, and neck lipo.
In fact, Daily Mail reports that fans were shocked when photos of Lowry’s recent butt transformation leaked online. Lowry has since opened up about her decision to have plastic surgery in her memoir, Hustle & Heart .
Part of the reason Lowry felt the need to transform her body is because of a history of eating disorders and low self-esteem. Lowry developed a negative view of her body because of these issues and decided to take matters into her own hands.
“For years I struggled with eating disorders, and I was extremely self-conscious about my weight,” she explained. “This is rarely something you ever completely get over. It’s nice to think that the ultimate goal would be to feel totally at peace with my body, whatever it looks like. But in reality, that’s something that has to be maintained continuously.”
Just because Lowry turned to plastic surgery, doesn’t mean she ignored other options. Indeed, the Teen Mom star tried to change the way she looks through diet and exercise, but she never got the results she wanted.
“I’d committed so thoroughly to working out and maintaining a healthy diet,” she stated. “But it was clear that there was only so much I could do to change the shape of my body.”
It was at this point in her life that Lowry consulted Dr. Michael Salzhauer, who is known in the community as Dr. Miami, for plastic surgery. For Lowry, it all came down to accepting the way she looks.
“I’m human. I care how I look,” she shared. “I knew that being satisfied with my outer appearance would give me the confidence I needed to face the world head on. For me, the things that I wanted to change about my body were nagging little distractions from the deeper missions I wanted to work on.”
Sadly, Lowry’s obsession with transforming her body may have contributed to her divorce with Javi Marroquin. During a recent interview, Marroquin admitted that his ex-wife’s inability to accept herself was a factor in their breakup.
“I was more shocked at who she’s becoming,” Marroquin said. “In the back of my mind, I was always worried of who you’re going to be. Are you going to be the same person I fell in love with? Or is this going to change you?”
Meanwhile, some of the stars of MTV’s hit franchise have even gotten work done by family members. Earlier this year, Chelsea Houska shared a pic online of her father, Randy Houska giving her a Botox injection during a BBQ.
Briana DeJesus also shared her plastic surgery story via social media. The reality star recently rejuvenated her vagina via labiaplasty and also got an upgrade on her breast implants.
Production for Season 8 of Teen Mom 2 is currently underway. Fans can watch new episodes of Teen Mom OG Monday nights on MTV.
