Adam Levine Refusing To Return To ‘The Voice’ With Miley Cyrus? ‘He’s Over That’

Adam Levine is allegedly threatening to sit out Season 13, or potentially quit The Voice altogether, rather than returning to the show alongside reported feud partner Miley Cyrus.

That’s according to a new report by Radar Online, who claimed that Levine allegedly has no intention of returning for Season 13 of The Voice now that Cyrus has been confirmed to make her return.

An insider revealed to the site that Adam, who alongside Blake Shelton is the only coach to appear on all 11 seasons of The Voice, has allegedly been making it known that he has no plans to appear on Season 13 and may quit the show amid reports of a nasty feud between himself and Cyrus.

“Adam does not really want to return if they bring Miley back. He is that over it,” a source revealed to the site of Levine’s alleged plans to potentially quit the series, at least for one season, to avoid sitting beside Miley for another cycle.

“Adam really cannot stand Miley,” continued the source of the Cyrus and Levine’s alleged feud that’s long been hitting the headlines, claiming that the Maroon 5 frontman thinks that Miley “is the most obnoxious person ever.”

But while Levine’s involvement with The Voice Season 13 appears to be up in the air, the insider admitted to the site that Adam will most definitely be appearing on Season 12 and is “thrilled” that Gwen Stefani will be returning to take over Cyrus’s seat.

“Adam was thrilled,” the source said of how Levine reacted to the news that Stefani was in and Cyrus was out for the next round of shows. “Adam is just really glad that Miley is gone and Gwen is coming back.”

NBC announced that Gwen would be replacing Miley on Season 12 of The Voice, set to debut on February 13, 2017, last month, revealing that Stefani would be sitting alongside Levine and her boyfriend Blake Shelton as well as fellow new coach Alicia Keys, while Cyrus will be absent until the second half of 2017.

“We can’t wait to experience the unique chemistry and energy Gwen, Alicia, Blake, and Adam will bring to Season 12,” Paul Telegdy, President of Alternative and Reality Group for NBC Entertainment told Entertainment Tonight of The Voice coach shakeup in October.

“With Miley returning for Season 13,” he continued prior to reports that Levine could quit over Cyrus, “we’re truly ecstatic about the unmatched musical know-how and talent coming together in our coming seasons.”

Telegdy did not comment on the Miley Cyrus and Adam Levine feud rumors, though Radar Online claimed at the time that it was, in fact, Miley’s feud with Adam and those behind the scenes of the show that meant she would not be back for Season 12.

“Miley did not get along with the cast and the crew,” an insider told the site of the alleged feud, adding that Blake also made it pretty clear that he wanted Stefani, who he’s been dating for the past year, by his side.

“Blake made it clear to the producers that he wanted Gwen by his side for the upcoming season,” an insider revealed. “It almost seemed like if she did not return then neither would he.”

As for why Cyrus was prematurely announced to be back next year after skipping out the next round of shows, Radar Online claimed that producers “offered Miley the gig because they know it would keep her happy” and “would not create any drama over being replaced by Gwen.”

Though The Voice coaches nor producers have commented on reports suggesting that a Levine and Cyrus feud could be the reason for Miley being bumped to Season 13, Us Weekly first claimed that Cyrus had not been getting on with her fellow coaches, namely Levine, earlier this year, with sources even revealing that their feud got so heated on the set that Cyrus had been left in tears at least one occasion.

An insider revealed to the site that Miley and Adam “totally butted heads” while filming the show’s blind auditions earlier this year and are just “too similar” to be friends, which reportedly caused serious tension for Levine and Cyrus.

“[Miley and] both have short attention spans,” continued Us Weekly of the alleged feud, “Adam would get agitated when Miley would interrupt him, and she enjoyed getting under his skin.”
