Like Many, Ariana Grande Is In Tears Over The Election Results
Ariana Grande joined a lot of people on social media who were shocked and outraged over the 2016 election results. She took to Twitter to exclaim to her followers that she is upset just like they are.
The “Dangerous Woman” singer admitted that she was in tears after Donald Trump was elected the next president of the United States on Tuesday night (November 8). Ariana Grande, a proud and outspoken Hillary Clinton supporter, tweeted the news of Trump becoming the next president, in which she finds “terrifying,” as reported by Hollywood Life.
Ariana told her fans that she was literally crying over the election results before Donald gained 270 votes needed to win the presidential election.
“Well this is utterly terrifying,” she tweeted as it was announced that Trump gained a steady lead against Clinton on election night.
“I am in tears,” Grande later tweeted.

Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman” sweatshirt has since been given a major political upgrade, as reported via Bustle. Grande gave the sweatshirt from her tour merchandise a much-needed upgrade when she photoshopped Clinton’s face behind the bunny ears mask. Clinton is seen rocking Grande’s signature ponytail and bunny ears. The sweatshirt also reads, “Hillary Clinton, Dangerous Woman,” and you can check it out in the Instagram post below.
Ariana revealed to her fans that she was proudly wearing the sweatshirt in support of Hillary on election night.
The singer is crushed like the many of the Hillary supporters across the country today. Even her home state of Florida, a critical battleground state, overwhelmingly voted for Trump, giving him 29 electoral votes. Grande was not the only one who expressed her disappointment in the election results. Many celebrities have since taken to social media to express their disappointment after Trump became the next president-elect.
Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Mandy More, and John Legend, among others, were disappointed with the shocking election results. Clinton had a long list of celebrity supporters who campaigned for the presidential nominee throughout much of the campaign season. There were also so many supporters who wanted to see Clinton become the first female president. Many celebrities have said they would leave the country if Trump was elected.
Right now, people are going to need a lot of faith to get through the next four years. Luckily, Ariana has just the thing in mind. The pint-size diva recently collaborated with the legendary Stevie Wonder on a new track called “Faith,” which is part of the original motion picture soundtrack for the new movie Sling that’s set to release on Christmas, according to the Metro Times. This is the first song in 25 years that Stevie has made for any film, which is why it is such a big deal.
The new track is produced by OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco, who has worked with other pop stars like Katy Perry and Rihanna. As you can tell in the video above, Grande and Wonder’s voices work well together. They will give their fans a lot of “Faith” in this dire time.
The two singers sing over a soulful track filled with bluesy and drum-filled beats.
“I got faith in you, baby,” they sing together. “I get you around and my mind goes crazy.”
Like Grande, Wonder has gotten political lately, according to Rolling Stone. Wonder has previously contributed on Common’s politically charged new single “Black America Again,” featured on the rapper’s album of the same name. The singer-songwriter also surprised Clinton with a rendition of his Hotter Than July track “Happy Birthday,” during her appearance on The Breakfast Club.
