WWE News: Final Additions Made To 20-Man Elimination Tag Team Match At ‘Survivor Series’ — IC Title Match Stipulation Added
A lot of big things happened on Tuesday night’s SmackDown LIVE which have huge implications on Survivor Series which is set to take place in less than two weeks. Shane McMahon replaced Baron Corbin in the men’s 5-on-5 match and a Cruiserweight Title match was added as well. There was much more though as the Intercontinental Title bout received a huge stipulation and the 20-man tag team match filled out its remaining spots.
One of the traditional Survivor Series elimination-style tag team matches still had a few openings at the beginning of Tuesday night, and those spots needed to be filled. As recapped by the official website of WWE, Breezango and The Vaudevillains battled it out for the final slots in the 20-man tag team bout.
When all was said and done, the Vaudevillains could not keep up with the good-looking duo as Fandango hit the Falcon Arrow on Aiden English for the victory. Fandango and Tyler Breeze took their spots on Team SmackDown LIVE and are heading to Survivor Series.
Breezango joins champions Heath Slater and Rhyno, the Hype Bros, The Usos, and American Alpha in the hope that Survivor Series will go their way.
Earlier in the night, it was revealed that the Cruiserweight Championship would be on the line when Brian Kendrick defended his title against Kalisto. The interesting stipulation in this match is that if Kalisto wins, he will take the title with him and it will switch brands from Raw to SmackDown.
Interestingly enough, though, that will not be the only title up for grabs that can change brands at Survivor Series.
Dolph Ziggler issued an open challenge to anyone on the Raw roster to step up and face him at Survivor Series for the Intercontinental Title. On Monday night, Sami Zayn was able to defeat Rusev to win that right to accept the challenge and again, it is a brand vs. brand bout.
WrestleZone is reporting that Daniel Bryan revealed on Tuesday night that if a title changes hands in an interpromotional match, it will also change shows. So, if Sami Zayn wins at Survivor Series, he will take the IC Title with him to Monday nights.
The current card for Survivor Series is as follows:
- Men’s Elimination Tag Team: Raw vs. SmackDown Live
Raw: Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, Chris Jericho vs. SmackDown LIVE: AJ Styles, Shane McMahon, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton
- Women’s Elimination Tag Team: Raw vs. SmackDown Live
Raw: Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Nia Jax, Bayley, Alicia Fox vs. SmackDown LIVE: Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Carmella, Naomi
- Tag Teams Elimination: Raw vs. SmackDown Live
Raw: The New Day, Enzo Amore & Big Cass, Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows, Cesaro & Sheamus, The Shining Stars vs. SmackDown LIVE: Heath Slater & Rhyno, Hype Bros, American Alpha, Breezango, The Usos
- Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar
- Intercontinental Title: Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Sami Zayn
- WWE Cruiserweight Title: Brian Kendrick (c) vs. Kalisto
It is possible that a couple more matches could be added to the Survivor Series card before the event begins as there will be four hours to fill up. Obviously, WWE is focusing on making the big four PPVs, including Survivor Series, mean something again.
The #SDLive GM @WWEDanielBryan got one over on me tonight. Humbled to be part of the team. Go #TeamBlue!

Survivor Series is really turning into a huge event as the battle for brand supremacy is going to run wild throughout each and every match except one. Yes, Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar will likely be the main event and there is no discounting it, but the other bouts on the card are all huge. Each one of the other matches will pit Monday Night Raw vs. SmackDown LIVE to determine which show has the upper hand.
