Next week’s airing of SmackDown LIVE is going to be huge as it is the 900th episode of the series that has truly had some memorable moments. WWE is doing everything imaginable to make sure that this episode is just as memorable and they are going all out for it. The Undertaker has already been announced to make his return to WWE for next week and on Tuesday, another announcement was made as a huge Hall of Famer and former World Champion would be showing up as well.

WrestleZone pointed out that WWE and Shane McMahon made a huge announcement on Tuesday and it is that Hall of Famer and former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Edge is heading back to SmackDown next week.

The 900th episode of #SDLive just got a little EDGiEr. The Rated-R Superstar will be LIVE with a special edition of the #CuttingEdge ! @WWE

Yes, the Rated-R Superstar is heading back to SmackDown LIVE where he made so many memories during a long and amazing career. It was actually on the SmackDown episode from April 15, 2011, that Edge relinquished the World Heavyweight Championship and retired from WWE and the world of professional wrestling.

The 900th episode of SmackDown LIVE will take place on Nov. 15, and it will happen at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Edge will be hosting a special edition of “The Cutting Edge,” but his guests are not yet known.

When WWE holds special episodes like this, there really is no telling who may show up and make their presence known. Sure, they’re announcing certain big names such as Edge and The Undertaker, but they will keep some of the others quiet so as not to spoil all the surprises.

Speaking of The Undertaker, when his return was first announced last week, fans wondered if he would just show up or wrestle or start a new feud or something else. According to the official website of WWE , no-one is really saying yet what the “Dead Man” is going to do on next week’s SmackDown LIVE .

WWE does point out that this will be the first time The Undertaker has appeared in the ring since defeating Shane McMahon inside Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 32 . Everyone thought he had retired, but it appears there is still some life left in him.

Cageside Seats reports that Edge’s appearance on SmackDown LIVE will be televised and is not just going to be for the live crowd. Anyone and everyone watching the episode will get to see Edge’s return and likely set up something for next Sunday’s Survivor Series or maybe TLC in December.

“The Cutting Edge” is never something that just ends up as Edge standing there and speaking with his guests. Some sort of brawl typically breaks out, and it turns into Edge delivering great one-liners before letting his guests duke it out.

The 900th episode of SmackDown LIVE is going to be a good one and WWE is certainly making sure of that. Yes, these two big announced appearances will likely be to further current angles, but longtime fans will make sure to tune in so they can see old favorites again.

There is still a week to go until the 900th episode of SmackDown LIVE , but WWE already has two huge legends (one active, one retired) appearing. The Undertaker’s return will raise a lot of questions as to what he will do from that point on, but only time will tell. Edge’s appearance will likely be a one-off thing since injuries won’t allow him back in the ring. Now, it’s just a waiting game to see who else will show up.
