‘Justice League’ And ‘The Avengers 2’ Will Battle For Summer Of 2015
Are you in the need of an action hero fix? Well, it looks like you might have to wait awhile for what’s sure to be a powerful battle between two of the most highly anticipated action films. It was announced that The Justice League and Avengers 2 will compete against each other as they’re both expected to release in the summer of 2015.
Justice League, which was rumored to be at the helm of Ben Affleck and then later denied by the man himself, is currently getting a script treatment and is in search of its director. The film aims to begin shooting next year. The DC Comics film showcases the powers of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and The Martian Manhunter.
According to LA Times, the go-to plan is to debut this group of action heroes and then subsequently release their own standalone films if it meets the studio’s expectations. It’s promising for action hero fans looking for new blood as it’s planned that the Justice League film will possibly spring board a new pool of talented action heroes to the blockbuster scene. However, it’s bad news bears for those who had high hopes that Christian Bale would reprise his role as Batman one last time.
Meanwhile, Avengers 2 has a head start as it was already announced that Avengers director Joss Whedon will return to direct and write the sequel after initial trepidation. Marvel recently set the release date for the film for May 1, 2015.
With these two heavyweight films in motion, it looks like the box office won’t be hurting. The question is, which film will prevail?
