‘Glee’ Mark Salling Child Porn Trial On Hold As Lawyer Working On Plea Bargain
Former Glee star Mark Salling has gotten a trial postponement approved as his lawyer is allegedly trying to work out some sort of plea deal with the Federal government who has charged him with possessing a great deal of child pornography. The LAPD collected images and video on Salling’s phone, computer, and thumb drives in a sweep of his home.
Glee alum Mark Salling has been wearing a court-mandated ankle monitor since his since he was indicted, and he is not allowed to go near parks, playgrounds, or anywhere children congregate, according to the Inquisitr. Salling had been under investigation for months before the SWAT team busted into his home and retrieved thousands of pornographic images of children under the age of twelve. Naya Rivera, also of Glee has commented that she is not surprised by the child porn charges against Salling.
Mark Salling was due in court today, but his Salling’s lawyer, Michael J. Proctor requested a postponement as they are considering making a plea deal, says Radar Online. Much of the images in Salling’s possession included children under the age of five, and it is being suggested that there is really no way out for Salling at this time. There are over 100k pages of images and documents as evidence against Mark Salling, for a case that was moved from a California case to a Federal case.

Michael J. Proctor has been on the job, mounting a defense for Salling while investigating other angles.
“The defense is also preparing evidence of mitigation that the defense anticipates presenting to the government in an effort to resolve this case without proceeding to trial.”
Salling’s trial has been moved to January 2017.

Mark Salling appeared to be involved in another sex related scandal, as last week it was made public that the Los Angeles District Attorney was deciding whether or not to file rape charges against Salling after a young woman made a complaint, says the Huffington Post. But due to the amount of time that had passed since the alleged rape, Mark Salling won’t be charged.
Deputy District Attorney Emily T. Spear said due to the time that had passed and a lack of evidence, Mark Salling will not be charged.
“I personally interviewed the victim. She appeared very emotional over the trauma inflicted upon her and presents as a credible and accurate historian of the events surrounding the rape. However, given the delay in reporting the crime, suspect’s apparent denial of the rape in victim’s pretext to call him and lack of other corroboration, there is insufficient evidence, at this time, to file this case.”
Mark Salling was also charged back in 2013 after Salling allegedly forced a former girlfriend to have unprotected sex. Roxanne Gorzela filed charges of sexual battery. Mark Salling settled that case civilly for $2.7 million. Gorzela was not the former girlfriend who tipped off the LAPD about Salling’s current child porn charges.
The Movie News Guide is asking the question of whether or not Mark Salling is a habitual sex offender. Lt. Andrea Grossman says the images in Mark Salling’s possession constitute child abuse, and demonstrate a pattern for Salling. The LAPD has been clear that the numerous videos of children under the age of ten involving sex acts were not incidental, and reviewing items seized from Salling’s home were sickening.
