The Hillary Clinton campaign reportedly has canceled a fireworks display that was scheduled to ignite over the Hudson River in New York sometime after 9:30 p.m. on Election Night.
The campaign has yet to provide an explanation for the alleged victory celebration cancellation.
An NYPD official told the New York Post that “They do have a permit for fireworks, but at this point we believe the fireworks is canceled.”
TMZ broke the story of the abrupt Hillary Clinton fireworks cancellation .
“Hillary Clinton will NOT light up the sky over NYC if she wins the Presidency — her campaign is calling off a planned fireworks show… TMZ has learned. The Clinton campaign had contacted the Coast Guard for permission to pull off a 2 minute long fireworks display over the Hudson River when the election results went final. The fireworks would be visible from the Jacob Javits Center, where she’s holding her election night party. But the Coast Guard tells TMZ … Clinton’s camp reached out on Thursday — 2 days after her fireworks plan was uncovered — to say it wouldn’t be shooting off the 10″ aerial shells, after all. The Coast Guard says the campaign offered no explanation for the about-face. We’ve reached out to the Clinton campaign… no word back yet.”

An earlier, pre-cancellation Post account detailed that “Law enforcement officials and the FDNY have been told to prepare for a barge-launched pyrotechnic display off Manhattan’s Javits Center, where Clinton and running mate Tim Kaine will join their supporters for the Nov. 8 vote count, sources said.”
The cancellation may or may not have anything to do with projected results on Election Day. According to the IBD/TIPP presidential tracking poll, which supposedly was the most accurate in recent presidential elections, Republican Donald Trump has a two-point lead over Democrat Clinton on a national basis, although the presidency is won on a state-by-state basis by the candidate who gets to 270 or more electoral votes.
Trump’s 43 percent to 41 percent lead over Clinton “now matches his largest so far during the 20 days of polling,” Investor’s Business Daily explained . “Among demographic groups, Trump holds a commanding lead among men, getting 47% to Hillary’s 38%, a 9-point difference. And he has made up ground with women, moving from a deficit in the double-digits to just 3 points down in the latest poll, 43% for Clinton and 40% for Trump.”
Poll aggregator Real Clear Politics gives Clinton a three-point edge, however, over Trump in both a one-on-one and a four-way national matchup. The IBD survey finds that Libertarian Gary Johnson and Green Jill Stein clock in with six percent and two percent, respectively. RCP shows the two third-party candidates with roughly the same level of support as IBD.
The USC Dornsife/ Los Angeles Times “Daybreak” poll indicates that Trump has a five-point lead nationally.
Separately, according to the Drudge Report , Trump is substantially outperforming 2012 GOP presidential standard-bearer Mitt Romney in North Carolina and Florida early voting.

Fireworks of a different kind actually could occur if Hillary Clinton becomes president, Green Party candidate Jill Stein claims. In multiple interviews, Dr. Stein warned that Hillary Clinton could start World War 3 with Russia involving nukes if she follows through on her plan to intervene in Syria and tries to set up a no-fly zone. Russia supports the regime of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad. “This is a mushroom cloud waiting to happen,” Stein argued about a potential nuclear war between the U.S. and Russia.
“In 2012, Mitt Romney famously planned an eight-minute, $25,000 fireworks show over Boston Harbor to celebrate a victory over Barack Obama that never happened. The fireworks were eventually removed and taken back to the company’s headquarters,” The Daily Caller noted .
Both candidates are holding last-minute rallies, although Trump’s schedule, as it has been over the course of the campaign, is far more extensive with visits planned to five states.
Do you think that voters should read anything into the news that Hillary Clinton apparently canceled a big fireworks show over the Hudson River on Election Night?
