Who Is ‘Outlander’ Star Sam Heughan Dating?
Now that Outlander star Sam Heughan has confirmed that he is not dating his co-star Caitriona Balfe, many fans are wondering who, in fact, the special lady in his life is. Last night, at the BAFTA Awards in Scotland, the young actress Mackenzie Mauzy appeared at the event with Outlander star Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser on the hit Starz show, as Parent Herald reported.
And while Heughan didn’t win the BAFTA Award that he was nominated for, he certainly seems to have won the heart of the gorgeous young actress. With this in mind, we’ve put together this list of some things you need to know about the beautiful young rising starlet whom Outlander star Sam Heughan proudly escorted to the ceremony.
1. She is an actress who has appeared in movies with Meryl Streep.
Mackenzie’s breakthrough role came when she starred in Into the Woods as Rapunzel, opposite Meryl Streep (who played Rapunzel’s mother, an evil witch). When she got the role, the young actress told the New York Daily News that it was “too good to be true.”
“You know you hear Meryl Streep plays your mom and you don’t exactly think, ‘Oh yeah, I got this.’ I have obviously looked up to Meryl and respected her for a long time, so that was just sort of surreal — at least for me, it was a dream.”
2. She’s also starred as one of Charles Manson’s girlfriends.
While Mackenzie Mauzy is currently dating Outlander star Sam Heughan, onscreen, she once dated Charles Manson. That’s right: she starred as the late Linda Kasabian in the Lifetime original movie, Manson’s Girls (opposite Jeff Ward, who played Manson). Mackenzie, who also starred as Phoebe Forrester on The Bold and The Beautiful, told The Soap Opera Network that she prepared for the role by reading Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi, and watching documentaries about Manson with her co-stars.

Before dating Mauzy, Heughan was rumored to be in a relationship with Hollywood socialite Cody Kennedy and model/actress Amy Shiels. All three women are gorgeous blondes!

Before dating Outlander star Sam Heughan, Mackenzie Mauzy was rumored to be in a relationship with actor Billy Magnussen. She was also married to stage actor John Arthur Greene, but that marriage ended in divorce.
5. She’s been subjected to online bullying.
Sadly, not everything has been rosy for the young, rising actress. When rumors began surfacing about her relationship with Outlander star Sam Heughan, Mackenzie was subjected to online bullying from several purported fans of the show, as previous reports by the Inquisitr confirmed. They made a range of baseless and untrue accusations about her, including that she was only dating Sam for increased fame and popularity. While the bullying started out very minor, it got so far out of hand recently that Sam had to go on his social media accounts — and Mackenzie’s — to beg people to stop their behavior.
“No one should be subjected to this,” he wrote, before demanding that the bullies stop their behavior, “and now.”
