Kellan Lutz, Oscar Winner? Star Predicts Academy Award Glory
Kellan Lutz, Oscar winner? That doesn’t sound so far-fetched to the 27-year-old Twilight actor, who has boldly predicted he will win an Oscar at some point in his career.
Speaking to DuJour magazine, Lutz declared his love for acting and talked about his big ambitions in the profession:
“I want to act for the rest of my life. I’ll win an Oscar one day, but I’m in no rush to get there. I don’t care if that takes me 50 years, and I’m old. I just love what I do.”
Fortunately, there’s a back-up plan if the Oscar doesn’t end up in the Lutz family home: chemical engineering. The star, who confesses to a nerdy streak and describes chemistry as his biggest passion, told DuJour:
“It’s great because acting has given me the resources and platform to help charities but also the money to create my inventions and pay for the patent process. Attorneys aren’t cheap!”
Indeed, an Oscar isn’t Kellan Lutz’s only goal for the future: The performer says he has two patent-pending inventions in the pipeline, having already flown back to his home state of Arizona to spend time building his creations with a scientist there.
In the more immediate future, Lutz will take up the lead role in Tarzan, a remake of the 1932 movie Tarzan the Ape Man and next month will also appear in the final installment of Twilight, Breaking Dawn – Part 2. Speaking of his time in the Twilight crew, Lutz reflected:
“It really is bittersweet. It’s very much like high school … and I’m ready to graduate. This is such a special moment in my life. I really just want to experience it with the people who mean the most to me.”
