Matt Jordan And Peter Thomas Speak Out On Their Respective Relationships With Kenya Moore And Cynthia Bailey

Kandi Burruss, Phaedra Parks, Kenya Moore, Sheree Whitfield, Cynthia Bailey, and Porsha Williams returned to TV on Sunday night with the Season 9 premiere episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The premiere episode gave updates on the women’s love lives, including that of Kenya and Cynthia. As it turned out, viewers saw that both relationships didn’t turn out as expected. Kenya revealed that she broke up with Matt while Cynthia met with a lawyer to start the process of divorcing Peter.

In the episode, Kenya explained that she broke up with Matt after he checked her phone while they were vacationing together in Mexico. According to Kenya, Matt apparently got angry over not knowing who she was texting with, going so far as kicking in the door and hurling things around in their hotel room. Kenya proclaimed that she wasn’t going to be with someone who can’t control his anger.

Are Kenya and Matt really done? Right before the premiere episode aired, Kenya posted a short video of herself hosting a small viewing party in her home. The video doesn’t show Matt there.

While Matt doesn’t seem to have been at Kenya’s viewing party on Sunday night, he did go with her to co-star Sheree Whitfield’s housewarming party last weekend. A week ago, Matt, a fitness trainer, posted a shirtless photo of himself. For the photo’s caption, he used the lyrics to a Drake song, which talks about having fame on one’s mind and one’s woman on one’s nerves. Was Matt thinking about the new season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Kenya at the time he took and posted the photo?

A viewer left a comment on Matt’s photo asking him if he’s still with Kenya. Matt publicly replied that he is. Yet he also joked that he and the viewer will keep that fact to themselves. Perhaps Matt is just joking about being in a relationship with Kenya again?

Matt later posted a collage of photos of himself in a suit. He told people to watch the new season of Real Housewives, indicating that viewers will indeed see him quite a bit on the new season and that he doesn’t regret filming it. The fact that Matt is promoting the show may also be an indication that his relationship with Kenya, which will be a major story line this season, didn’t end in bitterness and hatred.

In response to one viewer who left a comment criticizing people who leave negative comments on Matt’s Instagram page, Matt agreed that it’s crazy that people behave as if they know him or his relationship just from what they watch on the show.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, posted on Friday, Kenya Moore talked about her relationship with Matt Jordan. She confirmed that viewers will see her and Matt go through some turbulent times on the new season. She attributed their relationship drama to their big age difference.

“We definitely go through a very turbulent time in our relationship. He’s 16 years my junior, so it presents a whole set of problems that I’ve never encountered before. I think that what you’ll see is me being in love and having a great man in my life, but the man is a 29-year-old who still has issues with expressing himself in a positive way, fighting fair when you do get into arguments, and just dealing with a woman who’s so much more seasoned and experienced than you, and also successful.”

The preview for Season 9 does indeed show some behavioral issues, with Matt seemingly acting violent and Kenya scared for her safety. One moment shows Matt yelling, presumably at Kenya, as he stomps up the stairway in her house. Another moment shows co-star Kandi Burruss telling someone else that Matt smashed the windows in Kenya’s garage. It then shows security footage of a man looking like Matt smashing the windows. The preview even shows Kenya tearfully asking co-star Phaedra Parks, whom she battled with for several seasons, for legal advice.

In her interview, Kenya confirmed that viewers will see her go through some scary moments due to Matt’s anger. As for whether she and Matt stayed together all through filming and are still in a relationship together, she teased that viewers will just have to wait and see.

“It took a turn. Some of the behavior was unacceptable, and again, I’m a woman trying to figure things out. What is the cause of this? You know, a woman put in a situation where she doesn’t feel comfortable. I think it will all unfold on the show, and then you can make up your mind whether you want to root for us to stay together or apart.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Matt defended Kenya several months ago via a lengthy Instagram message. He denied that Kenya used him for a story line, told people to stop calling her names, and said that Kenya saved his life and “jumped on grenades” for him on numerous occasions.

While Kenya Moore and Matt Jordan may very well still be together, the same can’t be said for Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas. In The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9 premiere episode, Cynthia revealed that she and Peter had been living apart for five months. She met with a lawyer to start divorce proceedings, which she hoped would be completed “with as much love and integrity as possible.” Cynthia sighed that she just wanted to move on.

When Cynthia couldn’t find their prenuptial agreement, she got Peter on a video call. Peter objected to Cynthia calling him rather than seeing face-to-face. When he tried to talk about what went wrong with their relationship, Cynthia seemed exasperated and didn’t want to engage in a conversation.

“Why are you FaceTiming me? You know I haven’t seen you in three months…The only thing I wanted from you, was you. This is f**ked up.”

To that, Cynthia said that she would let him know if she found their prenup and ended the call.

Four days ago, Peter posted a photo of himself with Cynthia. Yet he made it clear that he and Cynthia were not back together by including the link to a Us Weekly interview that Cynthia recently did in which she confirmed that the divorce was still proceeding. In his caption, Peter asked his critics to please read the interview.

In the interview, Cynthia took responsibility for the failed marriage. She said that while she loved Peter, she didn’t give fully to the marriage. She also vowed to never marry again.

“I couldn’t give up Cynthia Bailey to be Cynthia Bailey Thomas. I was in love with Peter, but I’m just not wife material. I will never be in a relationship again where it will take a lawyer for me to walk away. I will never marry again.”

Cynthia said that her daughter, 17-year-old Noelle Robinson, always was her first priority.

“Peter never felt like he was my No. 1 priority. He was right. She [Noelle] was.”

Cynthia Bailey also said that she believes that Peter Thomas, whom she confronted last season for seemingly kissing and sexually touching another woman in an encounter that was caught on video, was always faithful to her.

“He was just being social. I believe with every ounce of oxygen and bone in my body that Peter never had sex with another woman.”
