‘Pokemon GO’ News: Update To Introduce ‘Sun’ And ‘Moon’ Monsters On November 18?
Pokemon GO news and updates have been emerging at increasing frequencies lately, with several third-party trackers going back online and Niantic holding a special Halloween event. This month, another notable update to the popular augmented reality game would most likely roll out, and if rumors prove true, it would be related in some way with the highly-anticipated releases of Pokemon Sun and Moon for the New Nintendo 3DS.
Niantic’s hit title has received numerous updates over the last few months, though most of these patches were minor tweaks to the game, such as the rollout of the Buddy System and the utilization of new color templates for Pokemon eggs. Until now, avid players and fans of the augmented reality game have been requesting that Niantic release a notable update to the game – something that would definitively change and revolutionize the mobile title.
That might very well happen on November 18, the official release date of Pokemon Sun and Moon. While Pokemon GO and Sun and Moon are managed by different developers, the two games fall under the same franchise. Thus, numerous fans believe that the augmented reality title would most likely be utilized by Nintendo as the perfect tool to advertise and push the new 3DS title. Apart from this, a Sun- and Moon-themed update would also give Pokemon GO a much needed boost, offering players some fresh content for the otherwise declining game.
According to a Forbes report, it has been mentioned that Pokemon GO would, in some way, relate to its Nintendo 3DS counterparts. Though the manner as to how the titles would relate to each other are pretty much unknown at this point, very few can deny that the November 18 releases of Pokemon Sun and Moon provide a golden opportunity for Pokemon GO to support the new title. Considering that rumors of a huge update being prepared by Niantic are abounding, there is a good chance that Pokemon GO’s next patch would be very notable.
Avid fans of the Pokemon franchise have stated that a huge update for Pokemon GO would be rolled out on the same day that Sun and Moon would be released. This update is speculated to include the introduction of Alola Pokemon into the mobile title’s lineup. Alola Pokemon are variants of the original 150 monsters that are found in the setting of Sun and Moon. Most Alola variations differ by their type, such as Vulpix and Sandshrew being Ice-type Pokemon and Meowth being a Dark-type monster.
An Alola rollout in Pokemon GO actually makes sense, since Niantic could simply modify its existing lineup of monsters to accommodate the new variations. This would definitely give Pokemon GO fresh content, as new monsters have been requested by avid players of the game for months now. At the same time, Alola monsters in Pokemon GO would also provide the best form of advertisement for Sun and Moon, since the millions of PG players would end up interacting with the exclusive monsters in the real world.
Apart from rumors of an Alola update, numerous fans are also speculating that Niantic would probably introduce the three starter Pokemon of Sun and Moon into the mobile game. Doing so would probably be a little bit easier for Niantic since the developer would only need to introduce three new creatures. Then again, the starters in Sun and Moon belong to a generation far beyond Gen 1. Thus, some avid fans of the franchise have expressed their reservations about the possibility of Niantic introducing Sun and Moon starters to Pokemon GO.
Considering that the developer has been pretty deliberate about the pace of its updates to Pokemon GO, however, there is also a good chance that the mobile game would simply roll out a minuscule reference to Sun and Moon later this month. While this is possible, fans of the Pokemon franchise are crossing their fingers that such would not be the case.
Pokemon GO has a lot of potential. More than being a mobile megahit, it is also arguably the most interesting and most effective advertising tool that the franchise currently has. All Niantic really has to do is to be very smart about the content of the updates it rolls out. If recent Pokemon GO news and rumors prove true, and if the developer plays its cards right, the latter half of November 2017 might very well turn into the most prominent Pokemon hunting season since the title was released.
