‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 8, Episode 4: Sister Sirens, Sybil Still Controls Damon, And Salvatore Brothers Doomed In ‘TVD’? [Spoilers]

The Vampire Diaries Season 8, Episode 4, is titled “An Eternity Of Misery.” It seemed like last week, Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis) made some progress, but that idea was short-lived. Although the mysterious weapon stopped Sybil in her tracks, it didn’t free Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). The synopsis and an extended promo clip have been released. They tease that Sybil has a sister, the siren is still in full control of Damon, and both Salvatore brothers might be doomed.

TVD spoilers are ahead. If you don’t want to know what to expect on The CW series, then stop reading.

At the end of the last episode of The Vampire Diaries , Sybil was locked in an observation room. Facing the wall, she huddled on the bed and appeared to be defeated. However, she still has the upper hand. The promo clip reveals that she is still controlling Damon Salvatore and this makes sense. She was able to control him from afar when he went after Sarah Salvatore. Sybil was also able to attack Enzo (Michael Malarkey) mentally when Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) drove him too far away from her. It doesn’t have to do with her being physically close to Damon — it has to do with their minds being connected.

Instead of memories of Bonnie when they were in the Other Side, Damon has images of Sybil. However, the two are not having past conversations, but talking about the present and future. Sybil realizes that Damon has too many people that care about him. She wants those connections severed and is making him believe that Bonnie is evil. Once that is done, there will be nobody stopping Sybil from having Damon kill others and serve only her.

The promo clip for The Vampire Diaries Season 8, Episode 4, also reveals that Sybil is starting to mess with Stefan’s head. She tells him that he is doomed just like his brother. However, is that really true? Stefan needs to be careful because the siren is a liar and a master manipulator. She gets great joy out of messing with people’s minds. She wants to plant seeds of doubt in Stefan and he is warned about this.

As reported by the Inquisitr a few months ago, it was teased that Sybil wanted Stefan Salvatore . At the time, it was believed she would try to break up “Steroline.” However, now it seems more likely that she wants him as a servant. It has been stated during the past few episodes that she wants “men” to serve her, not one man. It took her a long time before finally forcing Enzo to flip his humanity switch. Even though he did, she still favors Damon. She is probably thinking there couldn’t be a better partner for him than Stefan. This is especially true after she witnessed how loyal he is even after everything his brother has done. She is thinking of how that loyalty could serve her.

The synopsis for The Vampire Diaries Season 7, Episode 4 , was also released by Spoilers Guide . There are other things going on besides Stefan dealing with Sybil.

“Tasked with finding a mysterious artifact, Damon’s latest mission takes him to Texas where a violent run-in with Peter Maxwell (guest star Joel Gretsch) leads to a surprising revelation. Meanwhile, after gaining the upper hand in their fight to save Damon and Enzo, Stefan and Alaric team up and uncover the origins of the mysterious force they’re up against. Finally, Matt (Zach Roerig) returns to the fray after his past and present collide in an unexpected way.”
