Kristen Stewart Not Interested In ‘Twilight’ Reboot — Who Should Play Bella Swan?
Rumors of a potential reboot of the Twilight series have been circling for a while now. Unfortunately for Twilight fans, Kristen Stewart has made it pretty clear that she does not have any interest in being in any additional Twilight movies.
This leaves fans with a very puzzling question – if Lionsgate did make the decision to reboot Twilight for an additional installment and Kristen really isn’t interested, who is going to play Bella Swan? Whether she will return to Twilight movies or not is up in the air, but Kristen Stewart is still acting (and now directing) and is just enjoying life.
Other Actresses Who Could Play Bella Swan
Some fans loved her and other fans hated her. But, would another Twilight movie really be the same if a different actress was cast for the role of Bella Swan? Here are some actresses that people have speculated could have made a good Bella Swan and others who were almost cast for the role over Kristen Stewart.
Michelle Trachtenberg
Michelle told Entertainment Weekly she was supposed to star as Bella in the Twilight saga, but she was doing Buffy and the schedule just didn’t pan out.
Emily Browning
As fans of the Twilight saga may remember, Kristen Stewart was not author Stephanie Meyer’s first choice when it came to Bella Swan. She wanted Emily Browning to have the role.
Jennifer Lawrence
According to The Guardian, Jennifer Lawrence was glad she didn’t end up getting the role of Bella – despite the fact that she auditioned for it. After the movie first came out, she noticed that Kristen Stewart wasn’t able to go anywhere without getting swarmed by paparazzi. Jennifer didn’t realize how big the Twilight movie was going to be when she auditioned for the role and she was glad it didn’t work out.
Lily Collins
Twilight was one of the very first auditions of Lily Collins’ career. Lily is a firm believer of everyone getting cast for a role they are intended to play.
Nina Dobrev
Nina Dobrev has thrown her name in the hat as an actress who would love to take on the role of Bella Swan if Liongsgate decided to reboot the Twilight saga. Nina has wanted to make a change in her career ever since she walked away from The Vampire Diaries. She thinks a lead role in a young adult movie is just what she needs and to be cast as Bella Swan in a Twilight reboot would be perfect.
Is A Reboot Of The Twilight Saga A Possibility?
It has been four long years since Lionsgate first released Breaking Dawn Part II. Is there any merit to the rumors floating around that the Twilight saga could be rebooted? Movie News Guide reports that Lionsgate has stated on several occasions that they would be interested in a Twilight reboot.
At the moment, the production company is just waiting for Stephanie Meyer to get on board with the idea. The company has made it clear that she has their full support if she decides she wants to tell another story from the Twilight saga and turn it into a movie.
Technically, Stephanie would not have to write another book for the production company to move forward with another movie as she had already written Life and Death: Twilight Re-imagined. This book is just the Twilight story being told from Edward’s point of view instead of Bella’s.
Stephanie also has another book titled The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. The book focuses on the transformation of becoming a newborn. It focuses specifically on one of the newborns from Eclipse. This option would be ideal of the production company had trouble getting the original cast to return because it is a spin-off and opens the door for new actors and actresses to be cast for the roles.
The real question is – would you watch a new Twilight reboot if you knew Kristen Stewart would not be playing the role of Bella Swan? Could you see someone other than Kristen as this role? More importantly, will the production company ever stop teasing fans and move forward with a Twilight reboot? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
