Ryan Lochte On His ‘DWTS’ Elimination: ‘Our Friendship Will Last Forever’
Ryan Lochte was the star who was eliminated on Monday’s episode of Dancing With The Stars, but it wasn’t due to the lack of trying. Ryan and his dance partner Cheryl Burke impressed the judges and the viewers this week as they prepared four dances. And based on Monday’s reactions, it wasn’t Ryan’s turn to go home. But based on viewer votes last week, Lochte simply couldn’t compete with people, who were performing at a much higher level on the dance floor. However, Ryan had some sweet words to share after his elimination.
According to a new Instagram post, Ryan Lochte is thankful for his dance partner Cheryl for standing by him as he made his first public appearance since the drama that went down in Rio. After competing at the Olympics this summer, Lochte got caught up in some legal drama, when he admitted to lying about an attack in Rio.

And while some of his swimming mates were fined $10,000 for lying, Ryan managed to get back to the United States before the story exploded. However, Lochte’s image was affected and he lost many of his endorsement deals. Despite his downward spiral, Ryan is now revealing that he’s thankful for his time on Dancing With The Stars.
“We had a great run. Thank you for being so patient with me and teaching me how to dance. Ur truly amazing person and dancer. Our friendship will last forever. Thank you!!! #TeamCherloch #DWTS,” Ryan Lochte wrote on Instagram, thanking his dance partner for going through this journey with him and sticking by him when things got tough.

When Ryan was filming the show, protesters managed to get into the studio and two protestors stormed the stage after Lochte danced during the first few weeks. But everyone on the set stepped up to defend Ryan Lochte. Many of the judges kept saying that they were only there to judge his dancing and not his behavior in Rio. But many did feel that Ryan Lochte should talk about it and he did. And he expressed tremendous regret over what had happened.

In addition to Ryan’s bad behavior, Cheryl had something else she had to deal with. She had been absent from the show for a while, so she was making her grand return as one of the best female dancers on the show. So when she and Ryan Lochte were booted, she wanted to give a special thanks to everyone on the show.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better homecoming season. I’m glad that the audience got to know Ryan as I got to know him – a man who was looking for redemption, acceptance and growth. While he may not have been the best dancer in the competition, he definitely had the biggest heart. I will forever be grateful for having gotten to know Ryan Lochte and his beautiful family,” Cheryl wrote on Instagram after she was eliminated from Dancing With The Stars with Ryan Lochte.

“#DWTS will always be my home. I came back to the show primarily because of my show Love on the Floor. Creating and producing and dancing in my own production made me realize how much I missed performing in front of an audience. It made me realize how much I missed connecting with people through dance. Being back on #DWTS allowed me to renew those connections. Not knowing what the future holds I can only say that Dance is the most wonderful and beautiful form of communication,” Cheryl continued on Instagram.
