WWE News: ‘205 Live’ To Showcase Cruiserweight Division on WWE Network
The WWE Cruiserweight Classic was a huge success on the WWE Network. The event took the biggest names in the cruiserweight division from across the world and put them in a tournament against each other. They were allowed to wrestle their unique style, and that made it something special and different.
The WWE cruiserweight division was moved to Monday Night Raw to give them more exposure, and the move has been a colossal failure. Instead of wrestling in their unique style and putting on breathtaking matches, WWE producer Kevin Dunn has been sending the WWE cruiserweight wrestlers out to wrestle basic Raw matches, and they are just a mid card show there.
That is all about to change. The WWE sent out a press release today that reported that the WWE cruiserweight division is getting their own weekly show on the WWE Network. The show is called 205 Live and will debut on Nov. 29.
Triple H is promoting the show, which is great news for fans of the cruiserweight division. Triple H runs the NXT shows and has proven to have the talent to run a show that is very different, and in many ways, much better than the main roster shows on Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live. Triple H said he is excited about the new show.

“205 Live is a natural progression to showcase the depth of our roster. With world-class talent such as Brian Kendrick, TJ Perkins, and Rich Swann, 205 Live will be a must-see program on WWE Network.”
The big thing to take into consideration is that the WWE cruiserweight division is only different when they are allowed to showcase what makes them different from the main roster wrestlers. One hopes that the show being on the WWE Network will allow Triple H to put his mark on the show as he did with NXT and the WWE Cruiserweight Classic.

Talent advertised for WWE 205 Live includes WWE cruiserweight champion Brian Kendrick, former champion T.J. Perkins, Rich Swan, Cedric Alexander, Lince Dorado, Noam Dar, HoHo Lun, Gran Metallik, Jack Gallagher, Harv Sihra, Gurv Sihra, and Tozawa.
The big thing about 205 Live being on the WWE Network is that the WWE might be able to bring in wrestlers not under WWE contract to compete on the show, much like NXT does. Names like Kota Ibushi, Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, and others could possibly show up in the new WWE cruiserweight series.

411mania reported that Tony Nese and Drew Gulak had not signed official WWE contracts yet. The wrestlers did work the Hell in a Cell pre-show in a match and then worked Monday Night Raw. However, both men are still under contract to Evolve, and the WWE has chosen not to copyright their names.
According to the press release, Mauro Ranallo and Corey Graves will be the announcers for the show. Graves has proven on NXT that he can call just about any sort of match, and Ranallo was spectacular at calling the action in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic. One of the many problems with the WWE cruiserweight division on Monday Night Raw is that Michael Cole is horrible calling matches like these.
WWE 205 Live will debut on November 29 on the WWE Network. This cruiserweight show will focus only on the talents that weight in at 205 and under. The WWE announced that they are listening to their fans, and hopefully, this series will save the floundering WWE cruiserweight wrestlers.
