Rihanna Slams Chris Brown Dating Rumors After Drake Split, ‘She’s Made That Mistake’
Chris Brown is allegedly looking to get back together with ex-girlfriend Rihanna following her recent breakup with Drake, but it sounds like Rihanna has no plans to start dating her former boyfriend again.
Reports are claiming that Rihanna has been making her feelings for Brown pretty clear to her friends and family, slamming recent reports suggesting that she and Chris could start dating again now that they’re both rumored to be single and allegedly referring to her relationship with Brown as a “mistake.”
Just days after Rihanna and Drake’s breakup was confirmed by E! News, Hollywood Life alleged that Brown was looking to reconcile with the pop star and had allegedly even been sending Rihanna and her family gifts, though Rihanna is now shutting down rumors of a reconciliation and seemingly slammed Brown in the process.
According to a Rihanna source, the singer allegedly referred to her past romance with Chris, whom she dated on and off between 2008 and 2013, as a “mistake” and added that Rihanna reportedly has “zero interest” in Brown’s advances amid the dating rumors.
“She made that mistake and will not return to him romantically,” a source told the site of Rihanna after reports claimed that Chris was pursuing his former girlfriend following her break up with Drake, though that doesn’t mean that we won’t ever see the former couple together again.
“Could they be friends, could they return and record with each other again? Of course but that is all it is going to be,” continued the site’s insider, suggesting that Chris and Rihanna could potentially remain friends but won’t be dating again. “If Chris has his hopes up he will surely be disappointed in the result,” the insider confirmed.
Sources claiming that Rihanna referred to her past reconciliation with Brown as a “mistake” come after Rihanna infamously returned to Brown’s side in 2013, despite his history of domestic abuse.
Rihanna discussed her decision to start dating Chris Brown again in a 2013 interview with Rolling Stone, where Rihanna first referred to her and Brown’s reconciliation as a “mistake” just months before they eventually split again.

“I wanted him to know what it felt like to lose me. To feel the consequences of that,” Rihanna candidly told Rolling Stone of dating Brown again three years ago. “So when that (stuff) came back it hit me like a ton of bricks,” she continued, telling the magazine that’s he “just couldn’t bury” how she felt about Chris, despite Brown’s abusive past.
Rihanna then got even more candid about her decision to start dating Chris once again in the 2013 interview, once again referring to dating Chris again as a “mistake.”
“I decided it was more important for me to be happy, and I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that,” the “This Is What You Came For” singer continued of her reconciliation with Brown.
“Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake,” continued Rihanna. “After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”

Rihanna and Chris are both yet to officially comment on the latest round of rumors suggesting they could potentially start dating again in 2016, though Rihanna did appear to send fans a cryptic message on social media as the dating claims once again swirled around herself and Chris last month.
Rihanna took to Instagram to make her feelings pretty clear on October 9 as the dating rumors hit the headlines, posting a meme that read, “None of my exes are married or in happy relationships, so it’s safe to say that I wasn’t da problem lol,” which many fans took to be Rihanna’s way of shading both Chris and Drake.
