Fans of the Uncharted series are reportedly in for a treat this coming December, as there is a rumor going around that Naughty Dog will show a preview of the upcoming Uncharted 4 single-player DLC at the PlayStation Experience event on December 3.
As of this writing, fans are a little over a month away from the PlayStation Experience event, and they still don’t know what the focus of Uncharted 4’s single-player expansion will be.
Ever since Naughty Dog announced that they were planning on doing a single-player expansion for the game, most fans were under the impression that its focus would be on Sam — the brother of Nathan Drake — and Victor Sullivan’s first big adventure together. However, there’s a rumor going around that we’ll get one last Nathan Drake adventure, and, like in Uncharted 4 , he’ll be accompanied by his brother, Sam.
Rumors are Uncharted 4 Single Player DLC will be Drake & Sam. I’m sceptical if it could lead to any worthwhile endpoint but we’ll see.

Before Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End , fans of the series assumed that Nathan Drake didn’t have any siblings. In fact, his entire childhood was a complete mystery for the most part. Sure, fans did get one short flashback to his childhood in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception , but leading up to Uncharted 4 , they didn’t know anything about Nathan’s past.
Originally, Sam was supposed to be Uncharted 4’s main villain. It’s unknown if he still would’ve been Nathan’s brother in the original script, but he still would’ve been stuck in a Panamanian prison for 15 years after Nathan successfully escaped.

Troy Baker, who is the voice of Sam Drake, said in a recent interview with Twinfinite that he’d love to see what Sam and Sully do next in the single-player expansion. He also said that he’d like to see a flashback to Sam and Nathan’s childhood adventures.
“After playing the game, I find myself really torn because a part of me wants to see what Sam and Sully are going to do.
“I was so impressed with what Chase Austin did as young Sam that there’s a lot of me that wants to see them go back. We jumped from them being in the orphanage to the prison – I want to know what happened during that whole space in between.”
The aforementioned rumor didn’t say if fans will get a new adventure with Sam and Nathan, or if they will see an old adventure from their childhood. However, because the ending of Uncharted 4 indicated that Nathan had retired from treasure hunting, we’ll probably be seeing a flashback in the single-player expansion.
If the rumor isn’t true and Naughty Dog has decided to go with Sam and Sully’s first adventure in the DLC, that could be their way of testing the waters with Sam as the series’ new lead protagonist. If it’s well-received, fans may get a fifth Uncharted game with Sam as the leading man.

Other DLC ideas that have been thrown around include an adventure with Chloe and Charlie Cutter, both of whom weren’t in Uncharted 4’s main story; the rise and fall of Libertalia, which would be centered around Henry Avery; and, last but not least, Cassie Drake’s — the daughter of Nathan and Elena — first big adventure.
Most are expecting Naughty Dog to show the reveal trailer at the PlayStation Experience in December and for them to release the DLC in either January or February. Also, it’ll probably be the last of the quarterly DLC updates for the game, as Naughty Dog will probably move all of their attention to the production of The Last of Us 2 , which is one of the most highly anticipated sequels in the history of gaming.
