‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ Season 9: Cynthia Bailey Opens Up About Divorce, Porsha Williams Talks ‘New’ Man
From Cynthia Bailey’s emotional divorce to Porsha Williams’ new romance, Season 9 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta is going to bring plenty of drama.
With the premiere a week away, what can fans expect to unfold when RHOA returns on November 6?
For starters, Buddy TV reports that Bailey’s divorce with Peter Thomas will play out in front of the cameras.
Bailey’s marriage has been through a lot of rough patches over the years, including scandalous affairs and plenty of explosive fights.
Now that the divorce is final, the reality star appeared on The Real and opened up about her fractured marriage.
“Yes, you will see it play out,” Bailey revealed. “Peter and I, we’ve always been very transparent in our relationship and it’s worked for and against us at the same time. Just being on the show, I think it’s been important for us to just really keep it real, like you guys do.”
According to Wet Paint, Bailey and Thomas exchanged vows on the show, which only made the situation worse.
In fact, Bailey admitted that it was difficult watching everything fall apart on national television.
“So yes, you will see it play out. And, it’s kind of hard because we got married on the show — we’re actually the only couple who got married on the Real Housewives of Atlanta — and to have to go through a divorce on the show is not easy, but I think the only thing more tragic than divorce is being in something that’s not working anymore,” she explained.
Fortunately, things appear amicable between Bailey and Thomas.
Of course, that doesn’t mean the former couple will avoid awkward moments this season.
At one point, fans will watch Bailey go on a cast vacation to Hawaii. The only problem is that Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker also invited Thomas, which only made things awkward.

“It’s good days and bad days,” Bailey said. “We’re really going through this process for real. I don’t normally see Peter unless we’re filming, to be honest, at this point. We just recently came from the all-cast trip, Hawaii, and that was a little awkward at first, because obviously, we don’t go on vacations together outside of the show.”
Bailey is trying to be as transparent about the split as possible. Being on a reality show, however, is difficult because there are some things Bailey wants to keep out of the public eye.
“It’s not easy,” she admitted during an interview with ET Online.
“I’m doing the best that I can do with it. I think I want to just show my truth, and just live what is really going on. But at the same time, I feel I have to protect some of the things, you know, in my marriage. At the end of the day, reality TV or not, it’s not everybody’s business. Not every single thing.”
Although things didn’t work out between Bailey and Thomas, she explained how she isn’t going to drag him through the mud on the Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Instead, Bailey hopes that they can still be friends long after the divorce is finalized.
“Let’s just say the gates aren’t totally wide open. Respectfully, I didn’t have any interest in dragging my husband or anything like that,” she stated.
“I know a lot of reality TV marriages end really horribly, and it’s unfortunate. Peter and I were friends first, and I would like to be friends at the end of this. At least cool.”
Bailey’s divorce isn’t the only drama in Season 9.
According to Bravo TV, fans will also watch Porsha Williams rekindle her romance with an ex-boyfriend.
“This season on Housewives, you will really get to know me,” Williams shared on The Real.
“I’m taking counseling, which is something I’m a really big fan of, therapy. Being able to have another outlet is really good. Getting back closer to family, as well and saying, ‘yes’ to things more. You know? Sometimes life can wear you down.”
Williams is taking such a positive approach to life that she’s going to give a former boyfriend a second chance at winning her heart.
“The power of yes! You know, you start to say ‘no’ because you think you’re protecting yourself, but really, you’re stopping some of the blessings that could happen. So for me, this season, you know, I start dating again,” she revealed.
“And crazy enough, the person that I’m seeing is someone from my past. We dated four years in my early twenties, he was the love of my life.”
There’s no telling where Williams’ new romance will take her, but fans can definitely expect the drama to reach an all-time high.
Meanwhile, Gossip On This reports that Bravo has officially released the taglines for Season 9.
