Austin Harrouff Update: Accused Cannibal Murderer Gives Dr. Phil First Interview
Dr. Phil has already conducted the first interview with the FSU student that has been charged with the cannibal style murder of two people in their own garage, but now it seems the show won’t air Friday as scheduled. The details about what happened, and who actually pulled the show are still unclear, but the previews seem to show Austin Harrouff candidly talking about the night of the attack with Dr. Phil McGraw.
Dr. Wade Harrouff, the father of Austin Harrouff went on The Dr. Phil Show, and broke down while talking about his son to Dr. Phil, and what happened on that night in August when two people were killed, and a third was injured, says the Inquisitr. Dr. Harrouff strongly believes that his son had some type of psychotic break, or an onset of schizophrenia, which he says runs in his family. Dr. Harrouff says that in the days before the attack, Austin’s behavior underwent a sudden change that he does not believe was a result of drug use.

While in a voiceover, Dr. Phil teased the Austin Harrouff episode of The Dr. Phil Show, where a teary-eyed Austin Harrouff told the story of what he was thinking that evening when he killed John Stevens and his wife, Michelle Mishcon, says Tallahassee.com. A preview said that the show with Austin Harrouff would air today, but last night, it was yanked from the schedule.

The preview showed Austin Harrouff answering questions posed to him by Dr. Phil about what happened the night of the murders. Many criminal defense attorneys would not allow their clients to do an interview before a trial, and so the Martin County Sheriff, William Snyder, is thought to be the person who pulled the plug, at least temporarily on the airing of the interview.
Sheriff Snyder claims he does not know what was said in the course of the interview, but he was uncomfortable that Austin Harrouff, who is still under the care of a doctor, incriminating himself prior to trial without knowing it. Austin Harrouff is being held in the hospital ward of the county jail.
The Mirror says that Austin Harrouff was interviewed by Dr. Phil, not in the hospital ward of the jail, but rather while he was still at St. Mary’s hospital before he was officially arrested. Prior to the interview, Austin Harrouff’s father, Dr. Wade Harrouff, a Jupiter, Florida dentist, met Dr. Phil when he went on the Dr. Phil Show for his own interview.
In the teaser clip, Dr. Phil asked what was on Austin’s mind before the attacks.
“I have had weird dreams that I was worshiped religiously. I’ve heard voices of monsters and stuff.”
Dr. Phil responded with the next question.
“What are they telling you? Did you leave that restaurant wanting to hurt anyone?”
At that point, Austin starts to cry and answers no.

Blood taken from Harrouff tested negative for the usual drugs that cause delusions, but the hospital did not have the capacity to test for things like Flakka, Bath Salts, and Pink, so a sample of his blood was sent to the FBI in Quantico, Virginia. The tests have reportedly been run, but the full toxicology results have not been made public.
Do you think that the episode was pulled from The Dr. Phil Show because the lawyers said no?
