Michael Phelps & Nicole Johnson Married! Details Of Secret Wedding Revealed
The secret of Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson is finally out! The couple reportedly got married on June 13, but decided to keep the good news away from the public. The 31-year-old swimmer and the former Miss California USA started dating on and off in 2007. They got engaged on February and welcomed their baby boy Boomer on May 5. Maybe they wanted to rush their wedding since they already have a child together.
According to USA Today, Phelps and Johnson got married at the $2.53 million home that the Olympian bought last year. Their love nest is situated in Paradise Valley in Arizona and offers great views of the Camelback Mountain. Michael’s agent, Peter Carlisle, was the one who officiated the nuptials.
The 31-year-old beauty queen posted a photo of her family on Instagram on June 13, which is also the day they reportedly got married. She and her husband stood by the pool while their son had a hard time keeping still as she carried him. The couple wore casual clothes so that probably no one will suspect that they already got hitched. She captioned the photo: “Such a memorable night with my lil fambam.”

TMZ Sports was the first one to report that Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson are already married. The website was able to obtain a copy of the couple’s record of marriage that was filed last June 15. The document seems legit because it showed there that their age is 30. The athlete’s birthday is June 30 and his wife’s birthday is July 12, so they definitely tied the knot before that.
Just over a week ago, the Olympic gold medalist denied that he’s married while doing a Facebook Live. Some fans suggested that Michael and Nicole already tied the knot. So what he did was show his right hand and even the left one to prove that he isn’t. He was wearing a black band, though. Watch the clip below.
It isn’t only Phelps who’s been denying their marriage. Two months ago, Johnson revealed a few details about their wedding, but she didn’t include the exact date. However, she talked about it like it still hasn’t happened. They are probably planning to re-marry in a more fashionable way, but it’s been preempted by the marriage license that leaked online.
“We have a date. It’ll be small and intimate for the wedding, and then we’re throwing a massive bash for everyone in the States,” she told Access Hollywood. “We’re kind of getting things rolling. I’ve been planning as we’ve been leading up to this. I think I have the wedding in order and now it’s on to the party for the fun!”
Two weeks ago, Nicole shared a photo of the Bridal Fashion Week on Instagram and captioned it “Eenie meenie miney moe” like she couldn’t decide what to wear on her big day. She also took a selfie with her wedding gown designer and claimed to have finally seen her dress.

While the missus seems busy preparing for a possible second wedding, the Olympian has been juggling between training and taking care of Boomer. Even while shooting a video for his new commercial, he manages to take time to hang out with his baby boy. Check out the adorable photo of the father and son below:

During an interview with Cosmopolitan, the brunette beauty hinted that she prefers having a private life with her husband. That could probably be the reason why Nicole Johnson and Michael Phelps secretly got married. Maybe they prefer having a small wedding with their loved ones first before they make it a public celebration.
“What I see as being romantic is probably different from what other people see as being romantic,” she said.
“For me, those moments are shared together at home. I always expected him to roll over one morning and propose to me in bed,” the beauty queen explained further. “I never expected something extreme, like other people would do it in front of others or they’d do it out on a cliff somewhere.”
