‘Supernatural’ Season 12 Spoilers: Alicia Witt Joins Cast As An Old Enemy Of Castiel?
The Walking Dead snagged one of the former cast members of Supernatural when they cast Jeffrey Dead Morgan — formerly known as John Winchester on SPN — for the controversial role of Negan, their worst villain yet. Supernatural is returning the favor, bringing former Walking Dead guest star Alicia Witt on board for a new role on Supernatural. Spoilers indicate this new character is not good news for Castiel (Misha Collins), as she’ll be playing an old enemy of Castiel, returning to shake things up. Like Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) don’t do a good enough job of getting themselves into trouble on their own.
(Some mild Supernatural spoilers follow.)
Witt announced the big casting move to Supernatural on her Twitter via a live video explaining her very good excuse for not attending Walker Stalker Con.

Supernatural and The Walking Dead seem to be trading cast back and forth like a couple of sports teams, although it’s doubtful Witt will get as juicy a role as Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan. Maybe you’ve heard something about his new character on The Walking Dead?

According to IBT, Alicia Witt joins the Supernatural cast as Lily Sunder. Witt, who played the ill-fated Paula on TWD, also revealed that her character will have a special relationship with Castiel, although she later clarified she didn’t specify exactly what kind of relationship. However, TV Line claims they confirmed Witt’s Supernatural character will be more foe than friend to Castiel.
This is the latest twist to Supernatural Season 12’s story for the beloved angel sidekick Castiel, and SPN fans know from previous spoilers that Castiel and King of Hell Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard) would be teaming up together in some strange capacity. Or maybe not so strange, as Castiel is not so kind and gentle this season, as previously reported in Inquisitr.
Witt also tweeted that Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean Winchester on Supernatural, reminded her that this isn’t the first time the pair have worked together.
turns out this is not the first time @JensenAckles & I have worked together- as he just reminded me???? https://t.co/PBBBZpH2aA#supernatural

Along with The Walking Dead and Cybill, Alicia Witt has also made memorable guest appearances on Nashville, Justified, and the upcoming Twin Peaks revival.
However, Supernatural fans will have to wait a bit to see Witt’s debut, which won’t be happening this week. The Supernatural Season 12 Episode 3, “The Foundry,” focuses on bringing together that odd couple pairing of Castiel and Crowley, promising a whole lot of comic relief as they hunt the new and revamped Lucifer, who has decided to inhabit the body of rock star Vince Vincente. That rock icon is played by none other than Rick Springfield, promising some serious rock video potential in a series that is known for its love of retro music (although usually more of the late ’70s variety.)
The comic pairing of Castiel and Crowley this season on Supernatural will likely be a welcome reprieve in a rather intense season for the Winchester brothers. Their deceased mother Mary (Samantha Smith) has been resurrected after 30 years hanging out in heaven, and things are a bit rocky, to put it mildly. Aside from not recognizing her son Dean when she returned, Mary is having a hard time adjusting to a very different world than the one she left. She’s also less than pleased her boys grew up to be hunters, and her first meeting with Sam found him in pretty bad shape.
I got a MAJOR bone to pick with whoever did this to Sammy! Dont miss tonights BRAND NEW episode of #Supernatural pic.twitter.com/V3cdm3yFAl

This week in “The Foundry,” Sam and Dean will investigate a spooky abandoned house with a “crying baby that leads to death.” It’s Halloween every week on Supernatural with all those ghosts and creatures that go bump in the night. Supernatural airs Thursday nights on the CW.
