‘Pretty Little Liars’ Reaches An Emotional End: Keegan Allen? And ?Troian Bellisario?? Share A Heartbreaking Goodbye
Pretty Little Liars is one step closer to the end of the series. The cast and crew has completed their Season 7 shooting schedule and, while there’s still awhile for fans to go, before the end of the season, the end has already come and gone for the PLL stars. It was an emotional time for everyone involved with Pretty Little Liars, because, while the season has yet to finish airing, many of the PLL stars realized that the last day of shooting essentially meant an end to some truly great friendships. It’s very likely that some Pretty Little Liars stars may never see one another again, so it’s understandable that emotions were running high.
Pretty Little Liars Bids Keegan Allen A Fond Farewell

Keegan Allen has been with Pretty Little Liars since the very beginning and, as Entertainment Weekly shares, his last day of filming closed with some heartfelt goodbyes from cast and crew. Even I. Marlene King, the PLL showrunner, admitted that it was difficult to say goodbye to Keegan, tweeting to her followers that Allen is one of the “most special” actors she has ever met. Among the Pretty Little Liars stars, Ashley Benson seemed particularly affected by Allen’s departure, sending him love via an Instagram post of her own.
For Keegan, saying goodbye was admittedly more heartbreaking than he might have expected. He wrote a goodbye, one which he later posted to Instagram, as he sat in his dressing room for the last time. The Pretty Little Liars actor revealed that his dressing room was once linked to James Dean, who had been spotted climbing amid the rafters of that very same building.
“I am unable to find the words to equate how tremendously emotional I feel. It is unlike anything I could ever explain,” wrote Keegan Allen. “I will think about this often, and look back fondly on what we all shared together. I can’t even believe it. So grateful for the support of our fans and friends. I will miss this family so very much.”

While there’s no measuring the emotions felt by the Pretty Little Liars cast, it seems Troian Bellisario, who played Keegan’s love interest through much of the PLL run, was more affected than anyone else. The goodbye to Allen shared on her Instagram account is as heartbreaking as any Spoby lover’s spat.
“There are not words that I can write (here) that could express the gratitude I have for walking next to this man for 7 years. @keeoone you know how I feel about you. You know what this part of my life means to me, you know all of the darkness and the light that we have shared over these years, the insane pants pissing laughter and now the heaving and hiccuping sobs that will live in my heart forever,” wrote Bellisario. “Even if Spencer and Toby only exist in Rosewood you will always have me. Love you friend. Thank you.”

Everyone is sharing their feelings and memories, saying their goodbye to Pretty Little Liars, and, as Teen Vogue shares, even some not connected to the series in any real sense are feeling heartbroken over the end of the show. One such person is Patrick Adams, fiance to Troian Bellisario. Adams sent an email to Troian to mark the end of PLL, but the message wasn’t for Bellisario herself, but, instead, was addressed to Spencer Hastings, the character played by Troian.
The message, which the Pretty Little Liars actress shared on Instagram, begins by acknowledging the tremendous impact that the series has had on viewers over the past seven seasons.
“Thank you for everything you brought to our lives and the opportunities you will grant us moving forward. We owe you a lot and will always remain grateful for the good times and yes, even the bad.”

The second half of the message written by Adams is partly intended to be a tongue-in-cheek poke at the story arcs seen in the past PLL story arcs, but, at the same time, brings home the fact that this really is the end. Whatever may happen in the second half of Pretty Little Liars, this is it. No more second chances. No more time jumps. No more ominous text messages.
“I want to wish you and Aria and Emily and Hanna (and Hardy) a little peace and quiet wherever you head from here,” Adams wrote in his email to Troian Bellisario. “May there be less corpses, text messages, doll houses, mind games, drug addictions, tears and disappeared loved ones wherever it is you end up. You’ve earned some quiet time. Read a book. Take some naps.”
Season 7 of Pretty Little Liars returns in April 2017.
