Han Ye Seul And Teddy Park Breakup: K-Drama Actress Of ‘Madame Antoine’ And YG Entertainment Producer Call It Quits After 4 Years

When it comes to Hallyu this year, both K-pop and K-dramas have experienced both highs and lows. Pertaining to K-pop we have seen numerous debuts of K-pop acts including NCT, Astro, and Black Pink. However, we’ve also seen numerous veteran K-pop acts either lose members or disband. Pertaining to K-dramas, we have seen its return to prominence from 2015 through gems like Descendants of the Sun and Doctors. However, K-dramas’ popularity was seen as a threat in China causing the country to initiate a ban, or at least a limit, on all Korean entertainment.

It seemed that the one thing pertaining to Hallyu that was only getting nothing but good news was Hallyu star relationships. Besides the fact that we have seen some pretty interesting couplings such as Kai of EXO and Krystal of f(x), 2016 was turning out to be a year showcasing relationship goals among established Korean couples such as Hwang Jung Eum and Lee Young Dong, Gu Hye Sun and Ahn Jae Hyun, Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young, and others, as reported by DramaFever.

Unfortunately, the bad and ugly of Hallyu star relationships just reared its head as we are now getting a lot of news of popular Hallyu couples breaking up such as Junsu of JYJ and Hani of EXID. Now the latest Hallyu couple to break up this year is Han Ye Seul and Teddy Park. The K-drama actress of Madame Antoine and the YG Entertainment producer call it quits after four years.

The news of Han Ye Seul and Teddy Park breaking up was made known through Ye Seul’s entertainment company and agency KeyEast, as reported by K-Pop Herald through a translation by Soompi. The entertainment company and agency provided the following statement on Han Ye Seul and Teddy Park’s breakup.

“The two have broken up…They have decided to remain as sunbae and hoobae who cheer each other on…It is difficult to confirm what the reason for their break up is or when exactly it took place.”

Han Ye Seul and Teddy Park have been dating since 2013 after meeting each other through an acquaintance, as reported by AllKpop. Later on that year in November, their relationship was made known to the public. It looked as if their relationship would go the distance even with constant rumors of their breakup. Eventually, all the rumors proved to be true making many fans who shipped them very sad.

Han Ye Seul has been busy since 2014 after she came back from a scandal pertaining to her role in Spy Myung Wol. Her most popular role was her comeback role as Sara or Sa Geum Ran in Birth of a Beauty (trailer attached above) opposite Joo Sang Wook (Fantastic). Two years later, she followed up with another lead role as Go Hye Rim in Madame Antoine opposite Sung Joon (Hyde, Jekyll, Me). The K-drama aired on JTBC which is one of the more pricier pay-to-watch Korean channels. Ergo, it got decent ratings for such a series. Now there are reports claiming Han Ye Seul is locked in for the main lead in upcoming 2017 K-drama Defendant.

Teddy Park has been busy too. Known for being the producer behind many of YG Entertainment’s most popular K-pop acts such as Big Bang and 2NE1, Teddy was the musical genius behind producing the album Square One, the debut album of Black Pink. It showcased two songs he worked on, “Whistle” and “Boombaya.” We know just how popular those songs are. As for Black Pink’s upcoming K-pop comeback, it is unknown if Teddy did any work for them. It is expected such details will be revealed later on
