‘WWE SmackDown Live’ Results: Nikki Bella And The Hype Bros Qualify For ‘Survivor Series’ Matches

While the drama surrounding WWE World Champion AJ Styles, No. 1 contender Dean Ambrose, and underdog James Ellsworth continued to heat up on this week’s SmackDown Live, it may have been overshadowed by the return of SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. Ever since missing her scheduled title match against Alexa Bliss at WWE No Mercy, the WWE Universe has been anxious for the return of the Irish Lass-Kicker. With her title shot against Becky set for two weeks from now in Glasgow, Scotland, Alexa didn’t hesitate to interrupt the champion’s return on SmackDown.

WWE SmackDown Live Results

The following includes the results of all the matches and segments from SmackDown Live on October 25. This episode of SmackDown airs live from the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. SmackDown Live hasn’t won the ratings war with Monday Night Raw since the week the blue brand hosted the WWE Draft. With this week’s episode of SmackDown marking the return of SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, will this be the first time Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan’s show defeats WWE Raw?

SmackDown Pre-Show On The WWE Network

Scott Stanford hosted the SmackDown Pre-Show, and was joined by Lita, Booker T, and Jerry “The King” Lawler in the studio. They were joined remotely by Charly Caruso in Green Bay. The show can be viewed on this page through the YouTube video feed below. The panel immediately talked about the fact that Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg has officially been set for Survivor Series, before talking about what’s next for James Ellsworth.

WWE SmackDown Live: Nikki Bella vs. Natalya

In a really strange piece, Charly interviewed Daniel Bryan, who was acting ridiculously intense in a backstage interview. On top of talking up the No Disqualification Match between Kane and Bray Wyatt on this week’s SmackDown Live, as well as the announcement that there would be a series of qualifying matches to determine which tag teams will represent the blue brand at WWE Survivor Series 2016.

Dean Ambrose declined James Ellsworth’s offer

As SmackDown Live began, James Ellsworth found Dean Ambrose backstage and thanked him for giving him the opportunity to defeat WWE World Champion AJ Styles on two separate occasions. He offered to return the favor by being in Dean’s corner for his non-title match against The Phenomenal One in the main event, but The Lunatic Fringe said he didn’t need any help and that Ellsworth could find something else to do.

However, when Dean ran into James just moments before his match against AJ Styles began, he agreed to let the jobber accompany him to ringside.

Bray Wyatt defeated Kane after Randy Orton RKO’d The Demon

As Kane was on the offensive outside of the ring in this No DQ Match, the lights went out and Luke Harper appeared on top of the announcer’s table. He helped Bray Wyatt reclaim control of the match. Eventually, Kane began to mount a comeback. As Harper began to get back in the ring, Randy Orton’s music hit. However, instead of attacking Wyatt, he turned on Kane and laid him out with his patented RKO. Orton left the ring without any explanation and Bray Wyatt picked up the win.

Later, when Charly Caruso caught up with Randy Orton backstage and asked for an explanation, all he kept his choice of words short and sweet:

If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.

Alexa Bliss attacked Becky Lynch

Just as Renee Young was beginning her interview with SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch in the ring, she was interrupted by No. 1 contender Alexa Bliss. Young was completely dismissed from the ring as Bliss took over. Of course, it wasn’t long before things got physical, and Alexa eventually left Becky lying in the ring. She grabbed a bottle of yellow spray paint to leave a yellow streak on the champion’s back, implying that Lynch has been scared to face Bliss this entire time, going so far as to fake an injury.

The Hype Bros qualified for The Survivor Series by defeating The Ascension

In a fairly competitive match, where former Green Bay Packer Mojo Rawley was greeted as a local celebrity, The Hype Bros became the first members of the SmackDown roster to qualify for a spot in one of the Survivor Series Elimination Matches at the November PPV.

Nikki Bella defeated Natalya to become captain of the SmackDown Women’s Team at Survivor Series

After asking General Manager Daniel Bryan if she could be the captain of the SmackDown Women’s Tag Team for this year’s Survivor Series event, Natalya was informed that she would be the captain if she defeated Nikki Bella in her match. The loser of the match, however, would be cut from the team completely. After Nikki got the victory, she was attacked from behind by Carmella.

Talking Smack on the WWE Network

The first WWE Superstar to join Renee Young and Daniel Bryan on Talking Smack was Kane, who took full responsibility for being stabbed in the back by Randy Orton. He had no explanation for Orton’s actions and his potential union with The Wyatt Family. After Kane, they were joined by the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Rhyno and Heath Slater, who were there to talk about being on Team SmackDown during the Survivor Series.
