TWICE Breaks Records With ‘TT’ — JYP Entertainment K-Pop Girl Group’s Title Track For ‘TWICEcoaster: LANE 1’ Earns Almost 6 Million Views On YouTube, Achieves All-Kill In Less Than 24 Hours [Video]

K-pop fans are holding their breath as the Autumn to Winter swing season has become a very intense yet friendly competition between the “Big Three” girl groups of this current generation of K-pop acts. Red Velvet of SM Entertainment initiated the competition with “Russian Roulette” while Black Pink of YG Entertainment will conclude it with their first K-pop comeback which is set to drop in November. Right now, Twice of JYP Entertainment takes center stage with their second K-pop comeback of the year, their third extended play (EP) or mini-album titled TWICEcoaster: LANE 1.

Though TWICEcoaster: LANE 1 is making waves, the one part of it that is making a major impact for Twice is its title track, “TT.” In less than 24 hours, the song not only broke records on YouTube with almost 6 million views, it achieved an All-Kill as well.

Starting with Twice’s achievement on YouTube, according to AllKpop, in just 24 hours, the music video for “TT” achieved a little less than 6 million views. To be a little more precise, the number of views documented on YouTube just a little after 24 hours is about 5.97 million views. That is an achievement for Twice as the “TT” music video is now the second most viewed K-pop music video for a band or group in the first 24 hours. They beat “Monster” by EXO (4.48 million views), “Loser” by Big Bang (4.46 million views), and “Party” by Girls’ Generation (4.3 million views). The top spot was taken by “Blood, Sweat & Tears” by BTS.

As for Twice’s second achievement pertaining to “TT,” according to hellokpop, the song achieved the first spot on all the popular local music charts in South Korea. These include Bugs, Melon, Mnet, Genie, Soribada, Monkey3, olleh, and Naver. As a result, Twice has achieved an All-Kill with “TT,” the second time this year since they are already achieved both an All-Kill and Perfect All-Kill with “Cheer Up.” It is expected that “TT” will eventually achieve the Perfect All-Kill award within the first week.

For those who haven’t seen “TT” yet, the music video surely fits the theme of Halloween as each member of Twice expresses their personality through a costume representing a famous figure in film or entertainment. Momo was Tinkerbell from the Peter Pan stories. Dahyun was the White Rabbit from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Sana was Catwoman from DC Comics. Chaeyoung was a mermaid, and Nayeon was a cute devil. Mina was a pirate that looked like a gender bender of Jack Sparrow from The Pirates of the Caribbean series. Jihyo was Queen Elsa from Frozen. Tzuyu was a vampire.

Though the aforementioned costumes were amazing on each member, the one who really stood out as recognized in the comments for the music video is Jeongyeon. The “tomboy” of the group dressed up as a very cute Pinocchio. Not to mention, her dance moves were unique as they imitated a puppet on strings. Still, each member of Twice brought something important to “TT.”

K-pop fans who want their copy of TWICEcoaster: LANE 1, especially those who are Once (official fan club of Twice), it is available for purchase on YesAsia. There are two versions of the album (A and B Versions). There are also special options included such as including posters and photo card sets with the mini-album.
