Lawrence Taylor: Tim Tebow Needs To Find A Girlfriend And Get Busy [Video]
New York Giants Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor has some advice for Tim Tebow:
“I would say he would have to go to church, temple — wherever he goes — find a nice girl and get laid. I mean, marry her if he has to, but he’s got to get some of that pressure off.”
L.T. offered these comments on Showtime’s Inside The NFL in response to a made-up, humorous question about making it in the Big Apple submitted by “Tim from the Meadowlands.”
USA Today describes the reaction on the set to Taylor’s remarks:
“[host James] Brown and co-hosts Phil Simms and Cris Collinsworth reacted to Taylor’s response with some mixture of chuckles and groans with Simms (Taylor’s New York Giants teammate for 13 seasons) saying, ‘As you soon as you said Tim Tebow, I knew this was not gonna be good.’ “
The Sports Grid is not necessarily sold on L.T. providing relationship advice to the Jets’ backup quarterback:
“Lawrence may have found himself professional success in the Meadowlands swamps, but he is also officially a low-risk sex offender because he was found guilty of sexual misconduct and patronizing an underage prostitute. If that doesn’t predispose you to giving sex advice, well I just don’t know what does.”
According to OpposingViews.com, “The best thing anyone can do with L.T.’s advice is listen to it, nod politely, and then do the exact opposite.”
In addition to his run-ins with the law, Lawrence Taylor has struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. Considered one of the greatest defensive players in NFL history, L.T. played for the Giants from 1981 to 1993 and is a two-time Super Bowl champion.
