Nolan Gould: ‘Modern Family’ Star Graduates High School At Age 13
Nolan Gould plays the clumsy and often dumb Luke Dunphy on the hit sitcom Modern Family, but in real life the 13-year-old couldn’t be further from that persona.
As Gould revealed to Ellen DeGeneres, he has already graduated from high school and plans to begin taking college courses soon, E! News noted.
“Over the summer I did a lot of studying and I took an exam and tested out of high school, so I’m hopefully going to go on and do some online community college courses,” he said.
Appearing on Ellen, Gould said he’s amazed at just how much he’s accomplished in his young life, both academically and professionally.
“As I’m driving in my limo, I’m like, ‘Wait a second, I’m 13, this is my third time at the Emmys’.’ It’s like, what am I supposed to do with the rest of my life? It’s kind of all downhill from now.”
While it’s not likely that a 13-year-old college student who also stars on a hit sitcom has anywhere to go but up, Nolan Gould does have some lofty expectations he’s made for himself. He’s already a member in Mensa, the largest and oldest IQ society in the world, and Us Weekly notes that his IQ has reportedly been tested at 150.
The idea that he is already a high school graduate might be hard to fathom for fans who only know him as Modern Family‘s Luke Dunphy, but as Nolan Gould said on his Twitter biography: “I am not a dummy, I just play one on TV.”
