The Wreckoning: Actress Taryn Manning Arrested For Assault
Sons of Anarchy actress Taryn Manning has been arrested in New York on suspicion of assaulting an assistant.
The actress, known for roles in the hit FX show Sons of Anarchy, Hawaii Five-O, and the Eminem film 8 Mile was detained by police at the Dream Downtown Hotel in Manhattan early Thursday morning following an alleged incident in her room, reports MSN.
the 33-year-old Manning, also a musician, reportedly got into a fight with her 23-year-old assistant Holliann Hartman after a stressful day of travel to release her new music video. She allegedly punched, scratched, and kicked Hartman in the face, scratched her face and neck, choked her, and slammed her head against the floor and wall, reports NY Daily.
She has been charged with misdemeanor assault and choking, and was released without bail on the condition that she stay away from Hartman until her next scheduled court date on November 13.
Manning’s lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, downplayed the fight as an isolated incident that occurred due to the high levels of stress and exhaustion stemming from long working hours together.
“If you know about Taryn, and her track record and her background, she’s not a petulant little kid,” said the lawyer. “She’s a 33-year-old, serious, well-accomplished actress, artist who is here promoting her song on Vh1.”
Tacopina called the woman Manning’s “longtime friend,” saying that the incident was “a late-night argument that turned into a bit of a physical altercation.”
He also said that Hartman did not wish to pursue a case against Manning. “There are some personal issues that they’ve had,” he said. “Disagreements that friends who spend every waking moment together have on occasion.”
Oh, and in case you didn’t catch the reference, the title of the article refers to one of Taryn Manning’s songs:
