‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 13 Spoilers: Is Amelia Pregnant? Plus New Love Interests For Arizona And Alex [Sneak Peek]

New romances and a possible pregnancy are heading to Season 13 of Grey’s Anatomy.

A promo for the upcoming episode hints that Amelia is pregnant with Owen’s child. Are the newlyweds expecting their first kid?

Plus, what new romances are in store for the doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial?

According to iTech Post, the new promo features Amelia telling Meredith that she might be pregnant.

Amelia hasn’t taken a test to prove that she’s pregnant, and without solid evidence, Meredith is understandably skeptical.

That being said, Caterina Scorsone, who plays Amelia on the show, is pregnant in real life, so there’s a very real possibility that her character will get pregnant in the near future.

Grey’s Anatomy took a similar approach when Ellen Pompeo was pregnant, though they simply kept Meredith bed ridden to hide the baby bump instead of writing a pregnancy storyline.

Meanwhile, there are a few characters this season that might get new love interests.

According to TV Guide, Arizona’s (Jessica Capshaw) old romantic interest, Leah (Tessa Ferrer) will return to Seattle and might rekindle their former love.

“A love interest certainly doesn’t mean necessarily a huge relationship,” Capshaw explained. “It kind of just means exactly that. I think there’s an opportunity for there to be some really fun, flirty, exciting, sexy stuff that comes up for [Arizona]. And that’s fun.”

Capshaw also expressed her excitement to have Ferrer back on the show and teased that Leah’s return is going to be full of drama.

“There’s definitely drama to be had. The way that they left it, [Arizona] broke it off and the Leah character… I don’t know if she turned crazy, but she was upset by the turn of events, so she kind of went after all of the attendings for the shenanigans, the little affairs, that happen all the time between attending and the residents,” Capshaw revealed.

According to MNR Daily, Arizona had a short fling with Leah during one of her breaks with Callie (Sara Ramirez).

Their fling ended when Arizona decided to give Callie another chance.

Now that Callie is out of the picture for good, there’s no telling where Arizona’s romance with Leah will go.

It also doesn’t sound like Arizona is going to be dating anyone else besides Leah this season.

Instead of seeking out relationships, Arizona is focusing on living life to the fullest, which means fun times are ahead.

“Existing in this alternate universe where everyone’s happy sort of frees [Arizona] up to play her own life a little bit more unfettered,” Capshaw explained. “So I think that it’s an exciting time to her. I think the sky’s the limit.”

That being said, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that a number of different actresses are joining Grey’s Anatomy this year.

Although Arizona won’t get into the dating game early on, it’s possible that she has a few more romantic interests as the season progresses.

This includes a character played by guest star Marika Dominczyk, who is known for her role on Brothers & Sisters, and Bridget Regan, who is also playing an unknown role.

Whether or not Arizona hooks up with any of the new female characters is yet to be seen, but creator Shonda Rhimes promised fans that she will have at least one romance this season.

“We’re absolutely going to see it,” Rhimes revealed. “I’m very excited to introduce a love interest for her, and to get to tell a story with her that lets her be who she is, and to see who she is post the relationships that she’s had.”

For Capshaw, she can only hope that Arizona finds love and not more heartache.

“I hope that she ends up getting into a relationship with someone who can feel really confident, totally full, funny, sexy, exciting, and excited,” the actress stated. “There’s a lot of fertile ground for that bloom in.”

Speaking of relationships, Christian Times is reporting that Alex (Justin Chambers) might have a bromance with Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson).

The two men are expected to spark up a friendship this season, though their bromance will have negative effects on Maggie (Kelly McCreary).

Maggie has a huge crush on Riggs but isn’t ready to forgive Alex for beating up her former boyfriend, DeLuca.

If Riggs becomes good friends with Alex, then it’s anyone’s guess how Maggie will react to the situation.

“I did hear a hint that maybe a bit of a bromance starts, a mutual respect, and they don’t hold anything against one another, and so I think that may be in the cards too,” Henderson revealed.

Of course, Alex has a lot more to worry about than his friendship with Riggs.

Following Alex’s violence towards DeLuca, he’s going to be doing everything he can to get his job back at Grey Sloan Memorial.
