Nam Tae Hyun And Jung Ryeo Won Relationship Rumors: K-Pop Idol Of Winner Rumored To Be Dating ‘Bubblegum’ K-Drama Actress, But Are They Really Dating?
2016 has been a year of revelations when it comes to Hallyu stars confirmed to be in relationships. There have been new confirmed relationships like K-pop idols Kai of EXO and Krystal of f(x) and Yenny of Wonder Girls and Jinwoon of 2AM. There have also been relationships confirmed to come to an end such as K-pop idols Junsu of JYJ and Hani of EXID. Yet, relationship rumors are so far dominating the most.
To be fair, relationship rumors are fine especially pertaining to K-pop idols. Case in point: G-Dragon of Big Bang and Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation. Fans of both, especially VIPs (Big Bang fan club) and Sones (Girls’ Generation fan club), will present their case providing circumstances that suggest the two are dating, yet they will never push such as a fact.
With that in mind, the latest rumor spreading among the Hallyu community is that K-pop idol of Winner Nam Tae Hyun and actress of K-drama Bubblegum Jung Ryeo Won are dating. However, are the two Hallyu stars really dating?
Numerous Korean news outlets, especially News1 and Naver, report that Xsports wrote an exclusive claiming that K-pop idol for Winner Nam Tae Hyun and Korean actress Jung Ryeo Won have been dating for about a year. According to the exclusive, the two met through a mutual friend last year and become close through similar interests. As time went by, they became a couple.
Where the exclusive becomes peculiar is when it claims Nam Tae Hyun and Jung Ryeo Won meet freely without worry about other people seeing them in public. It even states that both were seen on a date at a cafe in Garosugil prior to Tae Hyun’s announcement of taking a break from activities due to his mental health issues. The fact itself that nobody has said anything of the two openly dating makes the exclusive suspect. And if their star power isn’t enough to cause waves in Hallyu news, their age difference is, because there is a 13-year age difference between the two.
Eventually, KeyEast — the management foundation serving as entertainment agency for Jung Ryeo Won — came forward with a statement on said rumors, as reported by Soompi. According to them, Jung Ryeo Won is not dating Nam Tae Hyun.
“[The reports] about [Jung Ryeo Won] dating Nam Tae Hyun are completely false. It’s not true.”
To be frank, this is not the first time a news site or a writer from a news site, either they be highly credited or tabloid, fabricated a rumor of Hallyu stars dating. So far this year, numerous sites have done such for Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, the main leads for Descendants of the Sun. Just recently, a huge rumor of Lee Min Ho dating Taylor Swift blew out of proportion from an article that utilized a clickbait title.
Jung Ryeo Won hasn’t been on either the Korean silver or small screen in almost over a year. Her last project was playing Kim Haeng Ah in the Total Variety Network (tvN) K-drama Bubblegum. As for Nam Tae Hyun, YG Entertainment announced recently on Wednesday, October 12, that he would halt all activities indefinitely for mental health issues. He, too, is an actor making his debut in Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) K-drama Late Night Restaurant.
