‘Boo! A Madea Halloween’ Is Coming To A Theater Near You
Boo! A Madea Halloween is coming to a theater near you. Tyler Perry’s newest movie in the Madea franchise hits the big screen next Friday. So, don’t forget to mark your calendar!
According to ABC News, the film follows Mabel “Madea” Simmons as she tries to locate her great-niece at a local frat party. In the process, all the kids play a big game on her. It’s a new twist on previous Madea adventures, with lots of humor and horror thrown in… not to mention creepy clowns.
It’s interesting to note that Tyler Perry doesn’t particularly like playing the role of Madea, something he’s done on and off for 18 years. However, he likes what it does for people. Perry explained it like this, on a recent visit to Good Morning America to promote Boo! A Madea Halloween.
“When they see it, I love to see them laughing. C’mon, 18 years of that old broad? But listen, as long as people want to see it, she’ll be around.”
Tyler also made mention of the fact that each time he’s about to let Madea rest, a new movie gets produced and box office numbers soar. This Halloween installment wasn’t even his idea. He got the idea from fellow comedian Chris Rock.
As a side note, he also made it clear that the creepy clowns in this movie have nothing whatsoever to do with the creepy clown epidemic going on today. In fact, Boo! A Madea Halloween was filmed way before these mysterious sightings began.

If you’re not familiar with Madea Simmons, you really don’t know what (or in this case who) you’re missing. In a National Public Radio report, way before Boo! A Madea Halloween was a glimmer in Rock’s eye, Tyler Perry touched on how the character of Madea came to be.
“Madea is a cross between my mother and my aunt and watching Eddie Murphy, the brilliant Eddie Murphy, do The Klumps. I thought — maybe I should try my hand at a female character. And that’s what came up. I thought I’d imitate the funniest person that I know, and she is the exactly the PG version of my mother and my aunt, and I loved having an opportunity to pay homage to them. She’s a strong, witty, loving, I mean really, just like my mother used to be before she died. She would beat the he** out of you but make sure the ambulance got there in time to make sure they could set your arm back, you know what I mean? Because the love was there inside all of it.”
Boo! A Madea Halloween was filmed in South Carolina and Georgia. As stated in a prior Inquisitr report, Madea’s alter ego recently purchased 330 acres of land that was once owned by Fort McPherson. The property will eventually be home to Tyler Perry Studios.

In case you’re interested, other Madea movie titles include but aren’t limited to Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Madea’s Family Reunion, Madea Goes to Jail, and Madea’s Witness Protection.
In other recent Madea news, she recently received an unsolicited phone call from Donald Trump, aka Jimmy Fallon. Trump did his best to convince Mabel to vote for him. You can watch the interaction below from The Tonight Show. Warning, there is a bit of cursing involved.
