ESPN NFL Week 6 Predictions, Picks, And Schedule: Eagles, Steelers, Seahawks, And Packers Viewed As Consensus Winners
NFL predictions and picks for Week 6 from the experts at ESPN are now here, and there are a few crucial divisional games on the schedule. While the Philadelphia Eagles were not expected to be contenders this year, their showdown with the Washington Redskins is one of the most highly anticipated games of the week. The reigning NFC champion Carolina Panthers are off to a slow start, but they will have an opportunity to right the ship against one of their hated NFC South divisional rivals in the New Orleans Saints.
There is still a lot of football to be played this year, but many of the games should be considered “must-wins” for certain teams. In addition to the predictions by the experts at ESPN, the latest NFL odds from Vegas Insider were also used as reference points. Here are a few of the notable games.
Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins – WINNER: Eagles
Despite winning the NFC East last season, the Washington Redskins have not looked like the same team this year. Quarterback Kirk Cousins has regressed, and tight end Jordan Reed is, once again, battling injuries. Despite the issues, the Redskins sit at 3-2 and have an excellent opportunity to gain ground in the division.
With a record of 3-1, the Eagles have been one of the biggest surprises in the NFL this season. If it was not for a late fumble by running back Ryan Mathews against the Detroit Lions last week, the Eagles would be sitting at 4-0 and in first place in the NFC East. Even though the Eagles will be traveling to Washington for Sunday’s showdown, they should come out victorious. Six out of nine ESPN experts believe the Eagles will win this game.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Miami Dolphins – WINNER: Steelers
As one of the favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl this year, the Steelers have shown to be as advertised. Ignoring an ugly Week 3 loss against the emerging Philadelphia Eagles, the Steelers have looked unbeatable. With running back Le’Veon Bell back in the mix, the Steelers offense is only going to continue to improve. With a 1-4 record, the Miami Dolphins are a bad football team, and it appears as though quarterback Ryan Tannehill may not be the answer. All nine ESPN experts believe the Steelers will win this game.
Atlanta Falcons at Seattle Seahawks – WINNER: Seahawks
While many believed Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan to be on the decline, he has been one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL throughout the first five weeks. Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones is better than ever, and the team’s running back group appears to be one of the strongest in the league. While the Falcons have been great this year, the Seattle Seahawks are also looking like Super Bowl contenders. Quarterback Russell Wilson is playing solid football, and tight end Jimmy Graham may finally be back to his old self. This game will be close, but the Falcons are not yet ready to win Seattle. Eight out of nine ESPN experts believe the Seahawks will win this game.
Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers – WINNER: Packers
Cowboys rookie quarterback Das Prescott has surprised everyone with his play this year, and the team has not missed a beat without Tony Romo. They currently have a record of 4-1, which is good for first place in the NFC East. While they have looked great, they are going to struggle on Sunday when they travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers. Eight out of nine ESPN experts believe the Packers will win this game.
