WWE News: Bill Goldberg Adds More Appearances To WWE Comeback
The Bill Golberg WWE return is really happening, and his first appearance with the company since WrestleMania XX in 2004 will occur when he shows up on WWE Monday Night Raw to answer the challenge laid down by Paul Heyman to fight Brock Lesnar again anytime and anywhere.
Now, the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, announced on Twitter that a second Bill Goldberg appearance has been lined up. Goldberg will be on WWE Monday Night Raw in Hartford the night after the Raw-branded Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event.

The Hell in a Cell pay-per-view is the next Raw-only pay-per-view event, and the WWE rumors right now suggest that the Bill Goldberg WWE return will happen in-ring at the Survivor Series in November. At the moment, there will be three traditional Survivor Series-styled matches on the show, and Bill Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar would provide a main-event caliber singles match on the card as well.
Survivor Series will be the first WWE co-branded pay-per-view event with both Raw and SmackDown Live stars on the show. There will be four co-branded pay-per-view events each year, including Royal Rumble in January, WrestleMania in April, and SummerSlam in August.

The Bill Goldberg WWE return is also part of the out-of-ring storyline surrounding the WWE 2K17 video game. The game, which hit shelves this week, has Goldberg as the cover star. Brock Lesnar has been advertised for the game as one of the top stars. Lesnar mocked Goldberg back in August, saying Bill Goldberg was next, stealing his motto.
The Inquisitr reported that Bill Goldberg was interviewed on ESPN and said that he was interested in a WWE return. He also mentioned Brock Lesnar by name. Paul Heyman came out last week on WWE Monday Night Raw and mentioned that the only blemish on Brock Lesnar’s record was his loss to Bill Goldberg at WrestleMania XX.

The next night, the Inquisitr reported that Bill Goldberg responded to the challenge and said he would be on WWE Monday Night Raw this next week to answer the challenge. This would be a rematch 12 years in the making from one of the most infamous matches in WWE history.
Heading into WrestleMania XX, Brock Lesnar had announced that he was leaving the company to try out for the NFL. Bill Goldberg announced the match would be his final one, and he was leaving the WWE as well. As a result, the fans booed both men, really throwing off the wrestlers, and only popped when “Stone Cold” Steve Austin dropped both men with Stunners to end the match. Bill Goldberg was the official winner.

If Bill Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar doesn’t happen until Survivor Series, there is a chance that the appearance after Hell in a Cell could line up the first face-to-face meeting between the two WWE legends in over a decade. At the moment, Lesnar is one of the WWE’s biggest heels, but he is also one that the fans love to cheer for.
There are thoughts that the Bill Goldberg WWE return should bring him in as a heel, but that is dangerous as well. The fans never liked Bill Goldberg as a heel, and there is a chance that his reemergence could be met with indifference. The good thing is that he is not going to fight for a title, so he won’t get the Batista treatment. However, Brock Lesnar vs. Bill Goldberg will be a huge match that will hopefully pay dividends for the WWE.
