WWE News: Shinsuke Nakamura Returns To NXT To Set Up Revenge Match With Samoa Joe
When Shinsuke Nakamura won the WWE NXT title from Samoa Joe, it was a huge moment for both fans of the Japanese superstar and for Shinsuke Nakamura himself. He had joined the WWE after becoming the biggest star in Japan and was able to succeed where Hideo Itami failed. Shinsuke Nakamura remained healthy and won the title while Itami, who wrestled in Japan as KENTA, has been injured almost his entire WWE tenure.
However, Shinsuke Nakamura was hurt after winning the title from Samoa Joe. The injury was a neck injury that was scripted into the WWE NXT TV show after Samoa Joe attacked him. The injury was also written to give Shinsuke Nakamura some time off to heal up from other injuries.
The WWE and NXT played off their champion’s absence by having Samoa Joe come out every week and demand that Shinsuke Nakamura return to face him or he would wreck havoc. Each week, Samoa Joe would come out and beat someone up and make his demands.
On WWE NXT on the WWE Network this week, the Shinsuke Nakamura return finally happened. Samoa Joe ran out during the match between Blake and Murphy and beat up both men. He then said that the time was up and that if the Shinsuke Nakamura return wasn’t going to happen, then he wanted his title handed back over to him.

That is when Shinsuke Nakamura returned after his music took Samoa Joe by surprise. Shinsuke Nakamura had his NXT title and a neck brace on. Then, Shinsuke Nakamura took off the neck brace, dropped the title, ran down to the ring, and the fight was on.
The fight between the two WWE stars was glorious as well. They had security and referees come down and pull them apart, only for them to break free and fight more. They fought up the ramp and then back down to the ring again. During this, both men beat up all the security guards as well. Finally, Shinsuke Nakamura hit the Kinshasa on Samoa Joe and stood triumphant at the end of the show.
Earlier this week, fans asked WWE SmackDown Live announcer Mauro Ranallo who he would like to see challenge AJ Styles for the WWE World Championship. He didn’t name any of the current SmackDown Live superstars like John Cena or Dolph Ziggler. Instead, Ranallo simply responded that his choice is NXT champion Shinsuke Nakamura.
