‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Spoilers: While Riggs Bonds With Alex, Will Meredith Finally Come Clean To Maggie? [Sneak Peek]
A new bromance is taking over Grey’s Anatomy. As Season 13 continues to explore Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) complicated dating life, Riggs (Martin Henderson) is about to get chummy with Alex.
Does this mean Meredith will finally tell Maggie (Kelly McCreary) about her romance with Riggs?
Unreality TV is reporting that Henderson recently opened up about his growing friendship with Alex and how it might affect Maggie.
“There might be a little bit of a friendship between Riggs and possibly Alex Karev, which further complicates the Maggie thing,” Henderson told Entertainment Weekly. “I did hear a hint that maybe a bit of a bromance starts, a mutual respect, and they don’t hold anything against one another, and so I think that may be in the cards too.”
There’s no telling when Riggs and Alex start their friendship, although the synopsis for the next installment reveals that Meredith and Riggs will discuss their future together.
For Alex, the doctor is still trying to figure things out with DeLuca.
Movie Fone revealed that Alex’s violence towards DeLuca has put Maggie in an uncomfortable position. Meredith fully supported Alex after the beat down and pretty much threatened DeLuca not to press charges, which put Maggie in an awkward place.
Maggie has a history with DeLuca and is crushing on Riggs. If Alex and Riggs suddenly become best buds, then Maggie’s situation is only going to get worse.
However it plays out, fans will watch Riggs and Meredith grow a little closer in the coming episode. According to Vine Report, the sneak peek for the next installment of Grey’s Anatomy features Riggs asking Meredith out.
“You and I should hang out. Together. Somewhere that isn’t here, like a … a movie,” Riggs says to Meredith.
The only problem with Meredith’s growing romance is that she will have to tell Maggie eventually. It isn’t known how Maggie will react to the news that Meredith is dating the man that she likes, although it probably won’t go over well, at least at first.
Why is Meredith waiting so long to tell Maggie the truth? Romper is reporting that Meredith hooked up with Riggs at the end of Season 12, so she’s had plenty of time to break the news to Maggie.
If Meredith waits too long, then she runs the risk of Maggie learning about their relationship from another source. Not only would this threaten her relationship with Maggie, but it might also end her romance with Riggs. To make matters worse, Meredith promised not to withhold any secrets from Maggie, yet she continues to lie to her.
For Meredith’s sake, fans can only hope she comes clean soon.
Meanwhile, other characters are also facing their own relationship issues. Owen (Kevin McKidd) is about to hit a rough patch with Amelia (Caterina Scorsone), and Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Sarah Drew) attempt to adjust to their new lives with the baby.

Tessa Ferrer is also set to reprise the part of Leah Murphy, and her return to the show will relate to Arizona (Jessica Capshaw). It’s well known that Arizona will get a new love interest this season after her break up with Callie (Sara Ramirez). Arizona and Leah were a thing a few season back, so they might rekindle things this season.
The only question is when Ferrer will make an appearance this season.
“My sources are telling me that it’s not going to be too far away,” Capshaw stated. “We had to wade through a little muck first. But I do feel that Arizona has certainly waited long enough.”
Fans can watch the drama in Grey Sloan Memorial unfold when the next episode of Grey’s Anatomy, “Falling Slowly,” airs Oct. 13 on ABC. Be sure to check out a sneak peek below.
