Chris Brown Telling Friends He & Rihanna ‘Belong Together’ After Drake Breakup [Report]
Chris Brown allegedly believes that Rihanna’s recent breakup with Drake is an opportunity for him to win back the singer’s heart.
According to reports, as soon as Brown got word that Rihanna and Drake had officially called it quits after dating exclusively for the past few months, Chris reportedly took the opportunity to shower his former girlfriend with gifts in an attempt to reconcile.
Hollywood Life is alleging that Chris has been telling friends in the wake of Rihanna and Drake’s breakup that “he’s going to get her back and that they belong together,” despite the couple calling it quits after a rocky on/off romance back in 2013.
“[Chris] definitely sees her breakup from Drake as his opportunity,” the site’s insider said of Brown’s big plans.
E! News confirmed that Drake and Rihanna had officially split after seemingly going public with their relationship at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards this past August, confirming that both musicians are now dating other people.
“Rihanna and Drake are seeing other people at the moment. They are not exclusive anymore,” a source revealed of the breakup. “They still love each other, but their schedules have gotten in the way.”
Brown has not officially spoken out regarding the claims he’s looking to win Rihanna back in the wake of her recent breakup with Drake, though the site went on to claim in another report that Chris has already been sending his ex a slew of gifts as he tries to win back her heart.
“[Chris] just had his assistant send a ton of stuff to [Rihanna] in Barbados for her and her family. He sent booze, flowers, a bunch of toys for all the kids, he knows the way to her heart is through her family,” an insider said of how Brown is letting Rihanna know that he’s interested in a reconciliation and dating again.
Claiming that Brown also opted to send Rihanna a painting done by himself, the site’s Brown source noted that after three years apart, Chris is “going after Rihanna again, hard.”
“[Chris is] saying he’s going to get her back, that they belong together and stuff,” the Chris insider continued of his attempts to reconcile with Rihanna.
Notably, Rihanna and Chris Brown called it quits back in 2013 after dating on and off for around five years since, during which time the couple briefly split after Brown was convicted of assaulting the singer in 2009.
But while Chris is allegedly making it pretty clear to Rihanna that he’s ready and waiting to get back together, does Rihanna actually want to reconcile with the “Forever” singer?
According to Hollywood Life, Rihanna isn’t exactly open to a reconciliation with Brown following her Drake breakup, despite his recent slew of gifts.
An insider claimed that the former couple does still call each other to “check in” every now and again, but revealed that Rihanna has no interest in reconciling with her ex and won’t be starting up her and Brown’s dating life once again.
“[Chris] likes to think that he could still get her back, but Rihanna is finished with him romantically,” a source close to the former couple confirmed.
And it looks like Rihanna is making that pretty clear publicly, as the claims that she has no plans to start dating Chris again come just days after the “Only Girl (In The World)” singer posted a pretty scathing quote to Instagram slamming her exes, likely including both Brown and Drake.
Though Rihanna didn’t explicitly tell her almost 45 million Instagram followers whether or not her post was directly aimed at Chris or one of her other exes, Rihanna certainly appeared to take aim at Brown and his failed high-profile relationships with ex-girlfriends including model Karrueche Tran.
“None of my exes are married or in happy relationships,” Rihanna’s post read, which has already received close to 1 million likes since the star uploaded it to the social media site on October 9. “So it’s safe to say that I wasn’t da problem lol.”
