Chapter 5 Of ‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’ Is One Of The Scariest Episodes Of ‘AHS’ Ever!
Brace yourself, American Horror Story is about to get scarier than ever! While the mysteries of American Horror Story: Roanoke continue to unfold, Chapter 5 is going to be one of the scariest episodes in the history of the show.
What can fans expect to unfold in the coming installment?
International Business Times reports that Chapter 4 featured Shelby (Sarah Paulson) and Lee (Angela Bassett) learning about Matt’s (Cuba Gooding Jr.) forest sex with Lady Gaga’s character. Shelby chased Gaga’s mysterious witch character but quickly found herself confronted by the likes of Bridget, Miranda, and Pigman. The episode wrapped with Ambrose (Wes Bentley) and Butcher (Kathy Bates) killing off Cricket (Leslie Jordan).
According to FX News Call, fans can expect more Pigman in the next episode. In the trailer for the coming installment, Pigman is shown wielding a weapon and appears to have a much larger role than ever before.
At the same time, Gaga’s character is going to take advantage of her late-night rendezvous with Matt and drive a wedge between him and Shelby. It isn’t clear how Shelby will react to Matt’s interactions with Gaga moving forward, though she definitely wasn’t happy about what went down last week.
Meanwhile, a bloody Butcher was also shown in the trailer performing some kind of ritual.
“This land is mine,” he says at one point.
Last week, AHS posted a photo of Cricket with the quote, “Oh honey, this land does not belong to the dead. You’re the trespasser!”
“This is the land of the living,” AHS wrote alongside the image on Instagram.
It still isn’t clear what is going to happen in Chapter 5 that makes it so frightening. The full trailer, which can be seen on Den of Geek, offers some clues to what might happen in the coming episode.
The promo clip focuses on a strange ritual that is happening in the woods and Pigman makes several scary appearances. Is it possible that the new episode will tie into a previous season of American Horror Story?
Fan theories indicated that each episode of Season 6 is linked to a former season. The first episodes had elements similar to Murder House, complete with a haunted property, ghosts, and strange happenings. The second installment paid a little homage to Asylum by featuring a nurse, while Chapter 3 introduced a few witches into the mix.
In the last episode, rumors hinted that Dandy Mott’s (Finn Wittrock) storyline from Freak Show would be explored, which also might be where Evan Peters finally makes his appearance.
Indeed, the installment mentioned the Mott family and how Edward Philippe Mott originally built the farmhouse back in 1792. Unfortunately, Peters did not make an appearance in the episode, though there is a possibility that he plays a Mott down the road.
With the first four episodes mentioning previous seasons, will Chapter 5 include a reference to Hotel? Does Gaga’s character somehow tie back into last season? For now, it isn’t known what Ryan Murphy has planned for the next installment and how it might tie into other seasons.
The only thing that is certain is fans can expect one of the scariest episodes of American Horror Story to date. Whether or not Peters will finally make an appearance this season is yet to be seen.
Whatever happens, the events in Chapter 5 are expected to lead up to a pivotal Chapter 6, which Murphy teased would change everything we know about Season 6.
Fans can watch all the mysteries unfold when new episodes of American Horror Story: Roanoke air Wednesday nights on FX. Check out a preview for Chapter 5 below.
