WWE News: Bill Goldberg Answers Brock Lesnar Challenge, Says He Is Fighting For His Son
The WWE rumors concerning a Bill Goldberg return have been floating around since before SummerSlam. At that time, Goldberg was in town the same time as the pay-per-view promoting the WWE 2K17 video game. However, he didn’t return then, and he didn’t return at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view, despite being scheduled to be in town then as well. However, the WWE announced on Monday night that the Bill Goldberg return would happen next week on WWE Monday Night Raw.
The WWE sent out the message to WWE Network subscribers the minute that Bill Goldberg tweeted out his intentions after Paul Heyman came out and publicly challenged Bill Goldberg to face Brock Lesnar anytime, anywhere, in the WWE.
The entire Paul Heyman promo was brilliant as he handled the crowd like a pro. Paul Heyman reminded everyone about Bill Goldberg, the names of his moves like the Jackhammer, and even got the fans chanting “Goldberg” once again.
Paul Heyman mentioned how Bill Goldberg had beaten many wrestlers over his career but then reminded everyone that Goldberg beat Brock Lesnar in the past, and then he challenged Bill Goldberg to a fight with Brock Lesnar. That is what sent Bill Goldberg to Twitter.

Fans who have been following the Bill Goldberg return rumors online knows that this day was coming. In interviews, Goldberg said that he wanted to fight at least one more match, preferably in the WWE. The reason wasn’t to dominate, win, or even capture a championship. Bill Goldberg has a son who was born after he retired and he wants his son to see him wrestle at least once.
The big idea was Bill Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, but that will not happen. For one thing. Goldberg and Lesnar fought already in one of the most infamous WWE matches of all time when the fans turned on both men because they were both leaving the WWE after the match. That is the match that Goldberg won.
The second reason is that the WWE has an idea for a huge match for WrestleMania between Shane McMahon and Brock Lesnar. The WWE must have liked the bumps and spectacle that was the Shane McMahon vs. Undertaker match this year and feels that Shane could put on another big show next year.

The next WWE pay-per-view is Hell in a Cell, and the company just announced that all three major championship matches would take place inside the Hell in a Cell structure. That almost seems like overkill and a Bill Goldberg return there would just be wasted among all the cage matches. That leaves Survivor Series.
The WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view will be the next time that both WWE Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live will share the same pay-per-view stage. That is a perfect spot for the Bill Goldberg WWE return to fight Brock Lesnar. The Inquisitr previously reported thatSurvivor Series was the probable location and that looks to be true now.

In a recent appearance on ESPN SportsCenter, Jonathan Coachman interviewed Bill Goldberg about a possible WWE return. In that interview, Goldberg said he was interested, but there were no plans in motion at that time. It is clear that there was and Paul Heyman threw out the challenge for a Brock Lesnar fight.
Next week, on WWE Monday Night Raw, Bill Goldberg will make his WWE return and answer that challenge.
