Darryl Strawberry Is Desperate To Save Lamar Odom, Khloe Kardashian Approves
Lamar Odom’s family, including Khloe Kardashian, have tried without success to get him into rehab and recovery, but now MLB all-star Darryl Strawberry wants to take a swing at it. Darryl Strawberry, who is in recovery himself, also owns two rehab facilities, so he practices what he preaches. Lamar Odom’s whole support system knows that he needs to clean up his act because they fear he won’t survive another overdose like he had last year at this time.
The last time Lamar Odom was in New York, his family made an attempt at an intervention according to the Inquisitr, But some of the company Lamar keeps doesn’t want him to get clean, because they fear that a sober Lamar would cut them out of the loop, so they are invested in Odom’s continued partying and wild ways. Lamar allegedly walked in and walked right out of his intervention, as he was tipped off by some of his “friends.”
Former Mets star Darryl Strawberry is now taking a stand, and urging Lamar Odom to get into rehab before tragedy strikes again. Strawberry went on Dr. Phil McGraw’s show, The Doctors to make a genuine plea to Odom to get into recovery.
“His family reached out to me because I am in recovery. I have two treatment centers.”
Darryl Strawberry, himself a recovering cocaine addict, has two rehab facilities in Florida and is offering Lamar Odom a hand up.
“You have to understand, with celebrities, they are always silent. And that’s why most of them end up dying — because of the shame and the guilt.”

Lamar Odom, who allegedly is still pining for Khloe Kardashian (who supports any and all efforts to help Lamar get clean), needs to put sobriety first before there is another event like last year’s overdose in a Nevada brothel. Darryl Strawberry says that too many celebrities have avoided reaching out for help.
“Look at Prince — Prince would be alive today… Whitney Houston would be alive today if someone had talked — you don’t have to die like this.”
Darryl Strawberry says he is going public because he is now making it his life’s work to help people.
“I reached out to Lamar. I have the centers because people’s lives matter. It’s not about me. It’s not calling out the celebrity — you are calling out the disease. If you don’t call it out and expose it, you will never get well.”

On Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Khloe had once claimed that she thought Lamar Odom could change, but after seeing photos of him partying back in strip clubs, she says that she is disappointed, and fears that he is back on that old, destructive track.
Darryl Strawberry believes that Lamar Odom can get clean if he is willing. Darryl Strawberry had a notorious battle with addiction, testing dirty for cocaine during his MLB days. Strawberry had claimed that he even partied with fans between innings, and had little concern at that time for his own life.

Darryl Strawberry is now a born-again Christian and heads up his own ministry. Strawberry believes that he is uniquely qualified to help Lamar Odom due to his own professional sports background.
