Nikki Ferrell Gets Married, Andi Dorfman Serves As Bridesmaid For Her ‘Bachelor’ Bestie
Nikki Ferrell has finally found her Prince Charming. The Bachelor alum, who was Juan Pablo Galavis’ final pick on the 18th season of the hit ABC reality show, tied the knot with Tyler VanLoo two years after Galavis failed to say “I love you” to her on national TV.
Ferrell and VanLoo wed at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Kansas City in front of nearly 300 guests, according to E! News. Bachelor alums Kelly Travis and Christy Hansen were in attendance, while Ferrell’s Bachelor bestie, Andi Dorfman, served as a bridesmaid.
Nikki Ferrell and her husband shared several pictures from their big day on social media. In addition to a gorgeous shot of the newlyweds walking out of the church as man and wife, the groom posted a snap of the couple dancing at their reception.
Nikki Ferrell got engaged earlier this year while on vacation with VanLoo in Colorado. Ferrell posted the news to Instagram, telling fans she was “over the moon” and that she couldn’t wait to marry her best friend. Nikki and Tyler celebrated their engagement over the New Year’s holiday at the San Juan National Forest in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
While the couple’s relationship seemed to get serious very quickly, Nikki and Tyler were close friends for years before their relationship turned romantic. In fact, last year Nikki posted a “TBT” Instagram pic from back in the day when Tyler was her best friend and she “wouldn’t really admit to anything more…but we all knew.”
While her relationship with Galavis was a bit of a mystery, Nikki Ferrell kept fans in the loop throughout her newfound romance with VanLoo, especially in the days leading up to their big day. Nikki recently posted photos of the couple’s wedding invitations and also a shot of her and Tyler applying for their marriage license.
Nikki Ferrell’s happy ending comes after a tumultuous relationship with Galavis, who gave her his final rose—but no bling— on the finale of his Bachelor season. Not only did Juan Pablo refuse to propose to Nikki, but he couldn’t bring himself to tell her that he was in love with her. Ferrell’s “prize” was a continued relationship with Juan Pablo after the show ended, but that didn’t end well.
Nikki and Juan Pablo dated for seven months after The Bachelor Season 18 ended, and they ultimately landed on VH1’s Couples Therapy before finally calling it quits in October 2014. Nikki talked about her broken Bachelor relationship in an interview with host Chris Harrison before the 19th season of The Bachelor debuted in January 2015. But instead of trash-talking her ex, Ferrell defended Galavis, saying he did try to make the relationship work.
“I tried everything, he tried, too,” Ferrell told Harrison. “It wasn’t just a one-sided thing … we real-life tried, not TV-tried…He lives in Miami and he’s in the entertainment industry, and that’s his job and his lifestyle. It was really hard for me to fit into that. At the end of the day, we gave it a go but we’re just two different people.”
While Nikki Ferrell never really came close to marrying Galavis—he couldn’t even say the “L” word to her—her bridesmaid, Andi Dorfman, seems to have given VanLoo her seal of approval. Andi, who also competed for Juan Pablo’s heart on The Bachelor, famously left his season of the show after telling him the way he talked to women is “not okay.” Ferrell ended up getting his final rose, but nearly three years later she has found an even bigger prize.
