George Clooney’s Awkward Reaction To Pitt/Jolie Divorce, And How He Tried To Get Brad Pitt Arrested

George Clooney has learned about the divorce between his two close friends on camera, according to Stuff. And it was awkward, to say the least. The 55-year-old actor struggled to find words after hearing the shocking news.

Most people can understand George Clooney for being so shocked, as the public were in his position just days prior when the reports about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce spread all over the media.

During the UNHCR refugee summit in New York City, a CNN reporter approached George Clooney and asked the Money Monster actor about the shocking split of two of the most famous celebrities on the planet.

“All right, don’t shoot me on this last question. It’s a big story; you’re friends with both of them. Your thoughts, any thoughts?”

But after the puzzled George Clooney asked the reporter to repeat his question, it became apparent that the actor, who starred alongside Pitt in the Oceans Eleven trilogy, had no idea about the divorce.

And when the reporter explained that Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt, he was quick to ask George Clooney what’s on everyone’s mind right now: is Pitt getting back together with Jennifer Aniston?

But George Clooney was taken off guard and couldn’t find the words to answer the question, so all he said was calling their divorce “a sad story,” adding that it’s an “unfortunate story” about a family.

“I feel very sorry to hear that.”

George Clooney’s friends, Jolie and Pitt, announced their divorce late last month, and it became apparent that it was the 41-year-old actress who filed for divorce after being together for 12 years. The duo had been dating for 10 years before they decided to marry in 2014.

Pitt’s ex-wife Jennifer Aniston has allegedly commented on the news, telling USsWeekly, “that’s karma for you,” clearly directing her words to her ex-husband, who is a long-time friend of George Clooney.

Jolie and Pitt married two years ago in front of their six children, but there have been rumors that Jolie filed for divorce because Pitt had been allegedly physically abusing his kids. And while there has been no official confirmation of the rumor, the actor is reportedly under investigation.

Earlier this year, George Clooney revealed how he had pranked Pitt. Addressing the crowd at the Adobe Summit, the Descendants actor said he had bought a rather troublesome special gift after his Oceans Eleven costar purchased a Toyota Prius, which could easily have caused his long-time friend to get arrested.

“I got a bumper sticker in the shape of a pot plant, that said, ‘F*** cops,’ and I put that on the back of his car. Because there’s no way you’re not getting arrested with that.”

And George Clooney certainly has enough free time to prank Pitt as his marriage with wife Amal Clooney seems like the most perfect marriage ever, according to People magazine, which cannot be said about Pitt’s marriage with Jolie.

A source close to the family has just revealed the secret behind Amal and George Clooney’s perfect marriage. And apparently, that’s finding the balance between work and the time they spend together.

“They are very keen on not spending too much time apart.”

This summer, George Clooney and his wife spent some quality time at their villa on Lake Como, where they had fun with their close friends and family and went on dates at their favorite restaurants.

George Clooney seems to have taken a break from acting and is focused on producing the Gary Ross-directed spin-off from the Ocean’s trilogy called Ocean’s Eight, which will feature an all-female cast starring Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling and rapper Awkwafina.
