‘Pretty Little Liars’ Cast Cries, As The End Draws Near

By now, fans are well aware that Pretty Little Liars will soon be drawing to a close, and yet, that still may not be enough forewarning to prevent an emotional experience, as we say goodbye to the final season of the Freeform series. As emotional as it may be for fans, that just doesn’t compare to how the Pretty Little Liars stars felt, when they gathered together for their final table read. Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, and Sasha Pieterse gathered together on the Warner Bros. lot, where Pretty Little Liars is filmed, to mark the bittersweet occasion with a group selfie, before going inside to take part in the emotional table read.

The Pretty Little Liars Cast Breaks Down, As They Face The End

Cosmopolitan reports that the photo was shared by Lucy Hale, who plays Aria Montgomery on Pretty Little Liars, and there’s no denying the sense of nostalgia the image already spreads. It might be compared to the way a high school senior class photo stirs up a blend of emotions from that class journey together, but in the case of the Pretty Little Liars cast, it has been seven years together instead of two. It’s a testament to the series, and as Ms. Hale remarks, the image also serves as a reminder of their past together.

“Aside from a murder mystery, mysterious Rosewood, the Hunt for A, and a lot of sketchy characters…the foundation of this show started and ended with friendship. Through it all, these characters stuck by each other’s side,” the Pretty Little Liars actress captioned the photo. “Knowing and working with each of these ladies has left such a huge mark on my life. And I’m not ready to say goodbye.”

Troian Bellisario also shared the picture with her own Instagram followers, but not before adding a black and white filter. The actress, who plays Spencer Hastings on Pretty Little Liars, comments that the picture was taken before that final table reading, remarking that they were all too red-faced and teary to take a good picture by the end of the read.

While the characters of Aria, Hanna, Emily, and Spencer have been at the core of the series throughout the seven years Pretty Little Liars has been on the air, E! News reports that many other actors are just as deeply bonded to their PLL co-stars. Chiefly among them is Sasha Pieterse. While Sasha hasn’t always been a series regular, her character, Alison DiLaurentis, has been at the heart of the mysteries throughout the entire course of the series, even when she was thought to be deceased and buried.

Ms. Pieterse remarks that, after eight years together, the Pretty Little Liars cast has shared every imaginable life event together, including weddings, birthdays, and the passing of loved ones, both on-screen and in their personal lives. In every sense, the Pretty Little Liars cast has become a family.

“It’s an end of a chapter and it’s been some of the best times of my life. To the fans: thank you for taking this journey with us. For loving the show the way we do. For having faith in us, they way we have faith in you,” Pieterse writes, closing out a lengthy and emotionally charged caption on Instagram. “You’re a part of this just as much as we are. Thank you for being apart of our #PLL family. I will cherish you all forever.”

For Keegan Allen, who plays Pretty Little Liars’ Toby Cavanaugh, that feeling of family belongs as much to the fans as it does to the cast.

“You are all here with us. You’re all part of our family and I want you all to feel included,” he wrote. “The fans made this show so special.”

Season 7 of Pretty Little Liars will conclude in April, 2017.
