California: ‘Creepy Clown’ Attempts To Snatch 1-Year-Old Baby From Her Mother’s Arms

In yet another “creepy clown” incident, a California mother had to call 911 after a man in a clown suit allegedly attempted to snatch her 1-year-old baby girl from her arms at a bus stop. According to Breitbart News, which cites KRON News, the incident was reported from the city of Concord located in Contra Costa County, California, at around 1 p.m., local time on Wednesday. According to a statement given by the mother of the baby to police officers investigating the incident, the clown was sitting near the bus stop when the woman, holding her baby in her arms, sat right next to him. A few minutes later, the clown started smiling at the woman and the baby. The woman construed this as perfectly normal behavior and thought that the man was just being friendly.

“He was smiling at her, sitting there with us,” the mother told a local news station.

A few minutes later, without warning, the clown suddenly reached out towards the mother and attempted to yank the baby out of her arms in what is now believed to be an abduction attempt. The woman, however, fought back and quickly tugged back the baby and managed to kick the clown in the shin, prompting the clown to flee. The shocked mother quickly called 911 and told them what happened. Within a few minutes, officers from the Concord Police Department reached the area and started a preliminary investigation into the incident.

Officials from the Concord Police Department confirmed that their dispatchers did receive a call at around 1 p.m. on Wednesday in which a woman talked about the clown and the rather strange incident that happened there. A statement was also issued by them which read,

“Around 1 p.m. today, Dispatch got one call of a suspicious circumstance. Officers arrived to the area of Willow Pass Road and Waterworld Parkway where a mother and her 1-year-old child were approached by a man wearing a clown costume with a blue wig at the bus stop. The women said the man engaged in a short conversation with the woman, reached out to touch the hand of her one year old daughter and then pulled the left arm of child. The woman kicked the suspect in the shin and the suspect fled on foot eastbound on Willow Pass Road, towards Market Street. An area check was conducted for the suspect, but we were unable to find him.”

The statement went on to add that efforts were on to identify the man. The officers are now requesting help from local eyewitnesses to help nab the clown.

Initial reports say that beneath the clown mask, the man was a white individual with blue eyes. He did not paint his eyes and at the time of the incident was in a partial clown getup that included a blue wig, a rainbow, and a polka dot suit. He was also reportedly wearing tennis shoes.

This is the latest among a string of “creepy clown” sightings and incidents that have seen a spike across the U.S. and several other countries over the course of the past few weeks. In California, there have been several threats against schools made by creepy clown social media accounts; patrols have been increased on several campuses as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, another creepy clown attack was reported on the same day and around the same time from the town of Galt, located less than an hour away from Concord, in which an 8-year-old boy was chased down by two clowns as he walked on his way home from school. The boy is reportedly a student of Lake Canyon Elementary School.

These repeated instances of creepy clown attacks have left parents and school authorities terrified.
