QVC viewers got a little more than they bargained for yesterday.

In the middle of a segment promoting a children’s Android tablet, QVC guest host Cassie Slane started clutching her chest and then apparently fainted on live television. See video below. In the segment, co-host Dan Hughes asks Slane if she is okay as she is about to keel over into him.

The camera cut away from the duo, and Hughes continued the tablet sales pitch nonetheless. As the New York Daily News quips, “even in the world of home shopping television, the show must go on.”

Cassie Slane was apparently substituting for Carolyn Gracie on the Sundays with Carolyn & Dan QVC program.

QVC has yet to issue an official comment on the fainting incident, but Cassie Slane said on her Facebook page today that she was feeling better but without explaining the cause of her fainting spell. QVC’s Carolyn Gracie indicated that the problem was brought on by low blood sugar and that Slane is feeling fine now according to the New York Daily News .

Cassie Slane apparently also passed out in August 2010 while on the air during a QVC broadcast.

The S undays with Carolyn & Dan show airs on the QVC channel from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Eastern time.

Watch Cassie Slane faint during the live QVC broadcast:

Do you think the other QVC host acted inappropriately by continuing on with the sales pitch even if Cassie Slane is or was okay?
