Kim Kardashian: Paris Robbery Leads ‘KUWTK’ Star To Postpone Makeup Class Appearance In Dubai
After everything that she’s been through in the past few days, Kim Kardashian just isn’t ready to jump back into the spotlight.
Who can blame her? After being gagged and bound by jewelry robbers during Paris Fashion Week, the 35-year-old reality TV star has retreated from the public eye and is holed up at an AirBnB apartment in New York City. Her husband, Kanye West, and her mother, Kris Jenner, have both been spotted leaving the NYC apartment, but Kim Kardashian has yet to be seen. Additionally, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and mother of two has not been active on social media, either.
Also, Kardashian has postponed her upcoming appearance in Dubai. On Oct. 14, Kim Kardashian was scheduled to do a makeup demonstration with her longtime makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic. On Wednesday, Dedivanovic announced that the makeup class with Kim K would be rescheduled for a later date.
On Instagram, Dedivanovic apologized to those who have signed up for the event.
“Dear Dubai Masterclass Attendees, On behalf of myself and Kim Kardashian West, please accept our apologies. We are sorry to inform you that due to the recent events, we will be rescheduling the Dubai Masterclass with Kim Kardashian West.”
Dedivanovic was reportedly in Paris with Kim for fashion week when Kim Kardashian’s robbery occurred. Earlier in the week, Kardashian had organized a birthday dinner in honor of her makeup artist.
Since the Paris robbery, Kim Kardashian has reportedly had a difficult time dealing with the aftermath of the experience. During the robbery in France, Kim K was pulled from her bed in the middle of the night wearing only a robe. According to reports, Kardashian was bound, gagged, and thrown into the bathtub, where she reportedly believed she would be assaulted or killed by two men who were posing as policemen. Instead, the jewelry thieves left Kardashian alive, but they made off with roughly $10 million worth of jewelry, including a $4 million ring given to Kim by Kanye.
According to an unnamed source for E! News, Kardashian is still working to overcome the incident.
“This is something that has the potential to screw anyone up for a very long time. It was incredibly frightening and it’s going to take a while to get over it.”
In the days since Kim Kardashian was robbed, critics have come out to criticize Kardashian, questioning whether the robbery story is even true, accusing Kardashian of making the entire story up for ratings. Still others believe that the robbery actually happened, but that details have been exaggerated or blown out of proportion.
Police trial expert and former undercover DEA agent Michael Levine is one of those who thinks the story could be less-than-accurate. According to Fox News, Levine thinks that Paris would be the perfect place to pull off a hoax.

“It was one of the first possibilities that occurred to me. By now the French police might have a good idea of this. However, I’m certain they will say nothing. They have enough problems,” Levine told Fox News. “The amount of terrorism problems, threats and investigations ongoing in France right now likely has every man and woman with a badge working double-time, so if you wanted to run a hoax or publicity stunt, and I am not saying that is what they did, but France would be the place to do it.”
But still others believe that Kardashian’s story is entirely true. Pop culture expert Lex Jurgen notes that there are plenty of ways for Kim Kardashian to obtain publicity, he told Fox News that filing a fake police report would be totally unnecessary.
What do you think about the entire situation? Do you think it’s fair for Kim Kardashian to postpone events after the harrowing Paris robbery incident? Why or why not?
