Zayn Malik, the former One Direction singer, also continues to enjoy the same kind of status. The boy band genre is pure gold on the internet, especially since 1D hit the scene. For Niall, the irony was too much when a fan told him, “nobody cares” about him in Canada. Everybody cares right?

Niall Horan enjoyed a huge surge in popularity as measured in Google searches when he released his new solo single “Our Town.” Horan rose above the ranks of his band mates on September 29 and remains at a much higher level than his previous average.
Which countries care the most about each One Direction member? The results are based on the number of Google searches for each band member over the past month. These are a bit surprising to those who don’t realize the scope of the band’s popularity.
Harry Styles is most popular in Spain, followed by Australia and the UK. The U.S. and the UK are equal in their love for Styles. Italy, Brazil, India, and Germany are also excited about Harry, in descending order.
Niall Horan is most popular in Mexico, followed Indonesia. He must have made quite an impression during his backpacking tour. The UK followed by the U.S., then India, and finally, Brazil also have an interest in Horan.
One Direction’s Liam Payne’s popularity in the UK is overwhelming, far more than the U.S. Other countries have not yet discovered Payne judging from their internet activities.
Louis Tomlinson, like Liam, has an overwhelming majority of interest coming from the UK but has sparked more interest coming from the U.S. than Payne.
Zayn Malik is most popular in Indonesia. Followed by India, then the UK, Mexico, and finally the U.S. and Brazil. Zayn overall gets more attention than any One Direction star, other than Harry Styles.
One Direction is known and loved in many different countries throughout the world, but places like Russia, China, Japan, and Africa are not searching for 1D or its individual members.
Harry Styles is overwhelmingly the most popular in Canada. Harry is most popular in the U.S. as well, but Niall Horan and Zayn Malik also made a big impression.
Zayn Malik and Liam Payne are equally beloved in the UK, but again Harry is by a smaller margin number one there.
