One Direction: ‘We’re Like The Beatles’

British pop act One Direction have stated that they see similarities between themselves and The Beatles. The five-some are currently enjoying huge success across the globe.

They recently became the first UK act to score a Billboard Number one with their debut album, and the group has stated that their experiences remind of them of the endeavors of John, Paul, George, and Ringo.

“We watched that film of The Beatles when they first touched down in America and we saw a real likeness with our personalities,” stated Harry Styles, whilst his bandmate Niall Horan added, “They loved having a laugh like us.”

Harry also went on to discuss his feelings of America and Britain, stating, “When we’re in America I’d say home is London, and when we’re back here we feel like home is there. It’s a bit weird.”

I’m sure that the band don’t have too much to worry about with recent reports indicating that the group have made £100 million in just two years with their record label racking up £200 million.

It does seem though like Paul McCartney isn’t too keen on the idea of the Liverpool quartet being compared to the UK X-Factor contestants. McCartney claimed that labeling them as the successors to The Beatles would be giving them the “kiss of death”, although he has also described them as “the next terrific band.”
