Kim Kardashian’s Paris Robbery A Hoax? Jewelry Heist Staged To Help Kanye West Out Of Debt Or To Boost ‘KUWTK’ Ratings?

Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery is making headlines today, but it didn’t take long for rumors to start swirling that the multi-million dollar jewelry heist is nothing but a hoax.

Was the robbery staged to help Kanye out of debt, something he tweeted about several months ago? Or did Kardashian “Momager” Kris Jenner need a compelling storyline that will give Keeping Up with the Kardashians a much-needed ratings boost when the 13th season premieres this fall?

Kanye was in Queens, New York performing at the Meadows Festival on Sunday and left his show mid-set when he learned about the incident. However, Kris Jenner was in Paris with her daughters Kim, Kourtney, and Kendall, although they did not stay at the same apartment where Kim was reportedly robbed on Sunday night.

Many news reports indicate that the robbery did indeed happen. However, there are some inconsistencies with the story. People reports that Kim “managed to squeeze her hands out of wrist ties” that the robbers allegedly put on her, but their source goes on to say that “she had a gun to her head the whole time.” How did she break out of her wrist ties while they had a gun to her head is the question many skeptics are pondering.

The Federalist questions the validity of the whole situation, pointing to the possibility that it could be “some sort of stunt” — perhaps one that goes beyond Kris Jenner’s desire to keep fans interested in her reality show.

“Is it possible the robbery is a hoax or some sort of stunt? Kanye has been very vocal about his money woes. Is it possible this is an elaborate plot to collect insurance money in an effort to solve her husband’s cash flow problem?”

And why was Kim’s security lacking in the middle of the night? Just hours before the incident, Kim posted on Twitter that her bodyguard, Pascal Duvier, is always in her photos, but he was not around during the robbery. Instead, she was only protected by the apartment building’s night watchman, a man who, according to The Mirror, was allegedly tied up by the robbers.

Whether it’s a hoax or not, fans can expect that Kris Jenner will find the Paris robbery worthy of an episode or two on the upcoming season.

Jenner has been accused many times of using personal family moments to create a buzz about the family’s long-running reality TV series. For example, earlier this year, Radar Online reported that Kris used Kourtney’s ex-boyfriend, Scott Disick, for show ratings because people wanted to watch him during a time when he was very unstable.

“Kris does not care about what is best for Scott anymore. She is using him for show ratings!” a source told Radar. “She knows that people want to watch Scott especially now that he is unstable. Also Kourtney gets bored when she’s not fighting with Scott and all of their drama did really well for the show last season.”

The Kardashian/Jenner family has been a little low on the drama of late, so it would not be a shocker to find out that Kim’s reportedly real and harrowing experience on Sunday is the focus of KUWTK Season 13.

So far, major news networks continue to state that the Paris robbery did indeed happen and until information proves otherwise, fans will have to decide for themselves whether it’s all a hoax or not.

Reuters reports that robbers entered Kim’s room at her private residence, 7 rue Tronchet, around 3 a.m. local time. The thieves reportedly tied Kim up with packing tape and stole more than $10 million in jewelry before fleeing from the private residence where the reality TV star was staying.

In another report, E! News reports that their source states that Kim “begged for them to let her live” and they proceeded to put a gun to her head, wrapped her mouth in tape, and put her in the bathtub. However, her rep has not confirmed that report, only telling the media that Kim was “badly shaken by physically unharmed.”

According to TMZ, Kim left Paris shortly after the incident and arrived in New York City on Monday afternoon surrounded by heavy security. Her husband, Kanye West, was by her side, along with Kris Jenner and her boyfriend, Corey Gamble.

Kris Jenner, who is now back in the U.S. with Kim, is making it known that she’s going to play Jr. Detective when it comes to tracking down the robbers who allegedly held Kim at gunpoint. Radar reports that Parisian authorities are investigating the robbery, but sources close to Jenner say that she will “stop at nothing until she gets revenge.”

So far, police have not released any information pertaining to suspects in the case other than The Guardian‘s report that five men fled the scene on bicycles.
