‘The 100’ Season 4: Lindsey Morgan On Raven’s Upgrade – It Could Have Negative Effects? [Spoilers]
The 100 Season 4 will not premiere on The CW network until early 2017. However, there is new information about the post-apocalyptic television show. Actress Lindsey Morgan spoke about her character, Raven Reyes, and what to expect. It seems that Raven’s “upgrade” from ALIE may have some negative effects.
Spoilers are below. If you prefer to not know what could happen on the TV show, then do not continue reading.
A few months ago, the Inquisitr speculated that in Season 4 of The 100, Raven 2.0 could lead the Sky Crew to safety. At the time, it was reasoned that she had the skills and personality to do the right thing in a crisis. However, there is another reason that theory is possible.
ALIE (Erica Cerra) knew exactly where the safe spots were on Earth. As fans recall, ALIE told Clarke (Eliza Taylor) that 96 percent of the Earth will be uninhabitable. That means the planet has four percent of water or land that are “safe zones.” However, they may be impossible to get to. It is reasonable to assume that if ALIE knew this information in The 100, Raven will have the details as well. Last season, Raven was reading ALIE’s code and was shocked to see mines everywhere. In Season 4, Raven Reyes will retain the ability to read code and will have a lot of knowledge thanks to ALIE’s “upgrade.”
Even though the new and improved Raven sounds great, there might be a downside. At Dragon Con, Lindsey Morgan revealed the status of Raven’s brain in Season 4 of The 100. The actress explained that it is like a cell phone upgrade. Everything is faster, smoother, and works better. However, in the television show, not everything is what it appears to be. The actress wouldn’t elaborate, but it definitely sounds like there may be some negative effects for Raven and the Sky Crew.
Last summer, Showbiz Junkies interviewed Morgan, who revealed what kind of character Raven will be when the show returns. She also confirmed that Raven knows code and is able to understand the technology that was being used.
“When she fought off A.L.I.E. and forced her out, A.L.I.E. wasn’t willing to go so she left a little of A.L.I.E. behind. That made her smarter than ever and just her mind is in fifth gear now. She can code and she can understand this new technology and Becca’s work that no one else can. So, she’s smarter than ever and I think everything she also went through physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually… you know she went to hell and back and she made it.”
When The 100 returns with Season 4, it will be interesting to see how Clarke handles the nuclear crisis. Showrunner Jason Rothenberg said that it can’t be stopped. It is coming and the only thing they can do is survive it. However, he also mentioned that there are not enough life boats. This seems to imply that there is safety across the water somewhere, but there won’t be enough room for everyone. Clarke will not want to decide who stays behind to die. This leads fans to wonder who will make that decision.
There is also the issue of Bellamy and Octavia, played by Bob Morley and Marie Avgeropoulos. Octavia is going to be with another group in Season 4. It has also been teased that she will be killing people. Will this new group help Octavia or harm her? Will Bellamy be able to make things right with his sister before the second apocalypse?
What are your thoughts on what Lindsey Morgan had to say about Raven Reyes and her upgrade from ALIE? Will it help the Sky Crew get to safety? What are the negative effects of the “improvement,” if there are any at all?
The 100 Season 4 premieres on The CW network in early 2017.
